Honestly, that depends on what games he's playing. If he's just playing stuff like Blockland, WINE can run that fine.

Are you using Ubuntu or any other type? and if so, tell me what type.

Xubuntu is pretty good imo

you can get rid of unity and use something like cinnamon btw

Yeah, I think I might just use Xubuntu, besides it also has a nice design.
But i'll think about it. @titanium Well I did run quite a few games with WINE, that and some of my friends use linux, Like I said i'll think about it.

Well maybe using WINE i could just play the games?
If baddy released a linux application for Blockland, it would save a bunch more time.

So I was gonna get Ubuntu, but I heard that the Unity sidebarish - thing is really crappy, and I had Xubuntu on this computer before I got win8. Not to mention since alot of stuff is for windows, so generally i'll have a quite clean one. And if you're wondering what my desktop looks like:

My monitor isn't really that small, it's actually quite big, but I just used the Ctrl V image thing on imgur.
So that's all done, the question is: Should I get an other version of Ubuntu or just get Ubuntu 12.10?

Isn't there a way to make a new master server and modify the games code or something? It's basically abandonware now

Well how would you get the game's code? (sorry i'm not a gaming god you can slap me) Not to mention some youtuber was mentioning a game like LU but that was a while ago.
Well, we'll see.
Lego making the game free to play is quite upsetting, because then we could keep playing.

Dre5567 is a 7 year old little boy.  He has been playng blockland, minecraft and other games for a couple of years now....and is excellent at the games he plays.

He built his own server for minecraft on his own at the age of 6. 

However, being only 7....he may not understand the complete rules and etiquette of the forums.  It would be more useful for all if instead of making fun of him.....to try to understand his position and explain to him what is and isn't proper for this forum.

I understand that having a parent coming in and posting to defend him will more than likely cause some more harassment for him.  However, I do ask....as a parent to please find a way to discuss your issues with him in a manner he will understand.  He truly enjoys Blockland and the forums...and your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

So, I just installed the demo of blockland on my Linux computer, I start a LAN server on my other computer (The one that I'm posting on) and it doesn't work. Small explanation:I start a LAN party on my computer, go to the other computer, start up BL, search for LAN servers, None.








Any help?
