Off Topic / Monitor help - Resolution not supported
« on: January 02, 2016, 02:36:36 PM »
My monitors max resolution is 1366x768, and black ops 3 launches at some much higher resolution, causing my screen to go black and say "not supported".  Is there any known way to remedy this?

If the old one hasn't really died yet let me know and I'll take this down but I couldn't find it.

You know what to do, 1 to 10 scale.

Off Topic / GTA V halp pls
« on: December 26, 2015, 09:10:23 PM »
Ok so every time I try to launch GTA V from steam it loads the launcher and then gives me this message:

"Offline mode not available

Offline play is only available for accounts that have previously signed in on this machine while connected to the internet while social club services are available.  You have not previously signed in on this machine so offline play is not available.

Social Club Services are currently experiencing technical difficulties.

No problems were detected with your internet connection."

But I have verified that social club services are up and plenty of people can play the game, and I've searched everywhere for a fix to this stupid piece of stuff but nowhere is helping.

pls guide me blf

Games / good dystopian/apocalyptic story driven games?
« on: October 08, 2015, 12:10:54 PM »
Preferably no zombies or Fallout.  I've played the hell out of Fallout and DayZ.  Also please recommend ones with a good single player story mode.  I like open world games but what I'm really craving is a good non fantasy story.

I need some help testing my server, to make sure lag isn't an issue and to have a general test run and see how well my gamemode plays.  I still have a lot left to do but this is like a trial run.

Help / Laser/blaster style weapons?
« on: September 30, 2015, 04:05:35 PM »
Currently I'm working on a techno themed TDM.  There's gonna be EDM music and glow FX and all that jazz, but I can't find any weapons.  I searched and found ladios' set from like 2009 but it was listed on RTB so ded.  If anyone has any input on where i can find some good laser or blaster type weapons it would be greatly appreciated.

Games / Haven and Hearth
« on: August 20, 2015, 07:30:42 PM »

WTF is this game
Grabbed from this thread - Haven & Hearth is a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) set in a fictional world loosely inspired by Slavic and Germanic myth and legend. The game sets itself apart from other games in the genre in its aim to provide players with an interactive, affectable and mutable game world, which can be permanently and fundamentally changed and affected through actions undertaken by the players. Our fundamental goal with Haven & Hearth is to create a game in which player choices have permanent and/or lasting effects and, thus, providing said players with a meaningful and fun gaming experience.

Players start the game surrounded by a vast and somewhat unforgiving wilderness, with only the most basic tools of survival at their disposal. The use of fire is a thematic focal point of the game's mythos, and an early and important task will be the simple lighting of one. As the first hearth fires disperse the darkness of the surrounding wilderness, more pressing questions will present themselves to the players: Who are they? Where are they? And, most importantly, where are they going? From this point on, players will have to blaze trails of their own into the unknown, the wilderness and the future, and explore and affect the world of Haven & Hearth using only their own best judgment and a chipped stone axe. Trust us, the stone axe is the stuff.

As players progress, they will be able to acquire new skills and abilities, allowing them to perform a variety of tasks—such as the claiming of land, the construction of buildings and the cultivation of crops—each step forward making the basic task of survival somewhat easier. Having progressed far enough, players will, in time, be able to organize themselves into societies, from simple tribes and villages, progressing through republics, nation states and, ultimately, empires. More info can be found at the Wikia page.

How TF do I play
Simply register here and log in.  After that you can click the big pink "play" button.  However the vanilla client is stuff so I would recommend using Ender's client.  There are other modified clients out there but this is the best and most popular one I've found.

Who TF plays this game
Please note that the game uses a system that allows you to have several different named characters on thee same account.  The names listed here are not the in game names of players, but rather the account/H&H forum usernames
ABlockOfCheese - Mr_Anderson
Zoltan - Kotomata

Simply ask in this thread to be added to this list.  I may miss you so if your post is a pageloss then don't whine, just quote it and repost.

WTF does it look like

I would like to see if we can get enough serious users to start a Blockland Only village but we will see what happens

Off Topic / Bugout Kit: Now and Then V2
« on: August 16, 2015, 11:26:02 PM »
Credit for this OP goes to AdinX.  I just grabbed it from his old topic and changed a few things.

stuff has hit the fan, there's violence in all of the major cities, and news anchors on every channel are saying NOWHERE is safe. Martial law has been announced, but most of the military has fragmented into those that have cracked under the pressure, those that went back to their families, and those that stand by their orders. You have one hour to gather up as much supplies as you can, and to bug out. Where isn't important. When is now. What... well, nobody knows. But lo! It was all just a dream! Continue on with your life... But what if it truly occurs 5 years down the road? How will you prepare then..?

Innawoods was originally an indie game being developed to work in a much similar fashion to DayZ. Due to lack of time/effort/Idontforgetin'know, the creator of Innawoods dropped the project, but kept a survival-dress-up-sim alive on the site. It's been featured here on the forums plenty of times, mostly for "What is your dream loadout?" type topics, but I'm curious as to what we currently have, and what we wish we had in terms of bug-out kits or just general gear around the house.

Define: bugout kit- noun
The focus is on evacuation, rather than long-term survival, distinguishing the bug-out bag from a survival kit, a boating or aviation emergency kit, or a fixed-site disaster supplies kit. The kits are also popular in the survivalism subculture.

Here's what to do

Step 1- click the link at the bottom of this OP

Step 2- Admire your naked body

mmmmm, pale white man

Step 3- Figure out what you could/would/should bring with you to survive.*

Step 4- Click the save botton (right side of the UI, below all of the options, it's there I promise.)

Step 5- Clear it all and start a new setup.

Step 6- This time, fill out your slots with the gear you plan on/wish you had 5 years from now, wherever you may be. The key is to be realistic about it. If you're in elementary school, I'm sorry but no you won't have a rifle (US law dictates the legal age to own a long-arm is 18, pistols/small-arms is 21).

Step 7- Use your image-hosting site of preference. I've recommended three sites below this-

www.imgur.com

www.tinypic.com

www.imageshack.com

Step 9- Share the two images. If you do not clarify, it will be assumed that whichever image is closer to the left, or the top, is your NOW image, and the image closer to the bottom or right is your THEN image.

Step 10- go back and fill as many slots as you can with rocket launchers and hotdogs

Step 11- see how many messages you can send to me with your Step 10 images

Step 12- realize I skipped Step 8

*Survival is going to vary person-to-person. For example, I live in Mississippi. We have hot, humid summers, and we have mild winters. Much of the area is rural, however there are several suburban areas. For me, I would rather be in the woods in a bug-out scenario. However, someone else may opt to stay home and bunker down. Or to head into open mountains. This changes a lot of things between each scenario- your gear, your tools, maybe even your weapons.

FOR SAKE OF REALISM, DO NOT INCLUDE ITEMS THAT ARE NOT YOUR OWN IN EITHER IMAGE (unless you're just forgetin' around, then sure line your pockets with improvised explosive for all I care.) The idea is to see what YOU yourself own, and what you might consider in the near future.

Go inna woods
