Drama / Re: Blockland, you lost me
« on: May 08, 2010, 10:45:35 PM »
Not that I play Blockland myself much anymore (less about Bl and more about school, random crap, and recently getting addicted to the classic starcraft with several of my friends), but I find it interesting that you fail to mention building in your entire post.  I mean, add-ons and occasion updates are just to keep things a little fresh and interesting, but if you're not building, I can see why you'd get so bored.  That's like playing team fortress two because you like running around in circles on maps, and complaining that other people aren't making running around in circles fun enough for you, while the whole point of the game is to play as a team and face a different team in an objective to win.

I say go.  The culture is pretty cool, and for those who think I'm talking about anime stuff, do you think Japan views American culture all based around Sponge Bob Square Pants?  No?  Then why do you think their culture is all based around anime?

I've heard second hand the people are really nice, and it should be really interesting for a trip to go on.

0/10 for rating someone by their rating for you.

If you gave the game a chance for 5 mins, you would know that is not the case.

Loved the demo, I enjoy the work of both of the creators, and wish I had spare money to buy it.

2ks I think.

Edit: Found a 19,953 on RTB!
A few 2ks (Wedge and I are the only ones I know of still around) got Blockland for $10 on 4th of July, 2007, during a one day deal on a website that does a deal a day for software at very low price.  All the rest of the 2ks were bought from the same site, but costing the full amount.  The only ID I know of to be auctioned off was id 10,000.

No, Wikipedia is not "proof" or "proofs."
Wikipedia is Wikipedia.
If you don't know what proofs are, you're in no position to question high level math.

Oh, my bad, typo, the word should have been "proofs."

There is no difference between .999... and 1, as proven by large variety of proof in a Wikipedia article:

.999999.... Repeating does equal 1.  There is no error in the math.

Do some work before posting a topic saying you are making something, you have zero work done, and you need a few people to do all the work for you.

No it doesn't.  This is a topic about how it is actually work to run a server, and asking for any suggestions on how to do so.
