There's no real point to hating motionjoy. It sounds more like you didn't like ps3 controllers.

Or can't follow simple tutorials.

Because all motioninjoy is, is a driver for PS3 controllers, with optional xbox360 controller emulation.

Incorrect.
He made ~$9/key due to other things that I'm not 100% sure about, it could be royalties, licensing, overhead, or paying co-workers eg; kompresser and etc

State taxes, he's also moved since then.

i thought it was a genre (but not placed in the same category as action/puzzle/strategy etc.)

Genres in video games are somewhat different than other forms of art because they are very seldom based on theme, style, tone, or audience as in film or literature. Instead most video game genres are based on the way in which the player interacts with the game.

i don't think we should be dividing games into indie/not indie because somehow giving your money to a small greedy group of people is different from giving money to a large group of greedy people

everyone on this forum has played indie games because blockland is an indie game

i personally play mount and blade and europa universalis 3

The worst was when people were calling indie a genre in the other topic.
