Off Topic / Re: The Health Thread
« on: July 05, 2014, 01:04:37 AM »
I only really eat a lot during dinner. Breakfast and lunch are usually just annoying extra meals I have to put up with.

Anyway, I almost always have homemade food (which does not mean microwave dinners). This includes salads, soups, chilis, pastas, casseroles, medleys, etc. Fast food is usually only had when on trips or special occasions while out.

My brother (Georges) and I ride ~2 miles everyday, he on his bike, me on my Rollerblades (guess who gets the better workout, lol). I really should exercise my upper body too though...

Also, I feel like this is an appropriate topic to bring this up in. Good food isn't "healthy" for you, it's healthful (i.e. full of health). Healthy indicates that the food is what is the medium of health. Unless you're eating fresh, raw fruits and veggies, your food isn't "healthy". It pains me when even nutritionists misuse this... :/

I mowed the lawn, played Blockland, and released an add-on... That's about it. :/

My record for hotdogs is 11 in less than 20 minutes. Not all of them had buns though. :^)

Amade's magic mod achieved a blackout by using some big particles around the player's head.
Of course, then everyone sees them. And it can be somewhat worked around with sneaky tricks.

Add-Ons / Snowboard [v.1.2.1] - First Person View Fixed [REDOWNLOAD]!
« on: July 04, 2014, 06:53:56 PM »
Snowboard [v.1.2.1]
Time to hit the slopes… er, Mod Terrain!

I love to snowboard, so I made this. Yay.

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8kl6a6lrtc

Key features:

• Semi-realistic performance.
• Responsive.
• Two styles - white & black trims!
• Neato-pa-teato model.
• Colorable; your board will be the same color as your paint can.

Some things to note:

Only practical in third person. Fixed by 1.2.0 update.
• Can get stuck on bricks and Mod Terrain; pull up before hitting ramps.
• Best used with arrow keys instead of mouse (in certain scenarios).
• Must download addon to use forward facing first person view.

That last one? It’s occasionally pretty important, unless you have serious mouse skills. Unlike the skis, the snowboard is pretty sensitive (so epic tricks can be performed). As a result, it’s much easier to control and stick the landings when you use your arrow keys instead of the mouse steering. Don’t know how to do this? Follow these instructions:

1. Go to Options.
2. Click Controls.
3. Scroll down until you see the key bind area for Looking/Turning.
4. Set Turn Left/Right to their corresponding keys.
5. Set Look Down as the up arrow and Look Up as the down arrow. This emulates the inverted control style of a flight simulator. If you’d prefer it reversed, nothing’s stopping you.

Now you can use your arrow keys to control the snowboard. To adjust look sensitivity (keys only), do the following.

1. Go to Options.
2. Click Controls.
3. Adjust Keyboard Turn Rate to desired sensitivity.

For those who use their arrow keys for scrolling, I suggest you find a different set of keys to do the say function, set up similarly to WASD. Otherwise, you’re stuck with the trackpad (good luck)…

How 2 Trix - Trick Basics:

Ramp: Go down ramp, pulling up just before hitting the up-ramp.

Jump (on flat ground): Get going fast, then pull up. The board will “jump” into the air a little. Hit spacebar.

360º: Turn left/right sharply just before getting air, and continue to hold until the trick is complete.

Flip: Continue to pull up after you’re airborne.

Changelog:
[1.1.0]
• Added jump feature, hit spacebar to perform a jump.

[1.2.0]
• Added forward facing first person view; download addon to use! Thanks to Thorfin25 for helping me with this.
• Reduced uneccesarily large wheel size.
• Added raycast check to decrease number of faulty tumbles when colliding upright with the ground.

[1.2.1]
• Fixed bug that prevented forward-facing first person view to be used.
