Off Topic / Re: The Creativity Board's Well-Being

Drawings megathread is running just fine. As well as the 3d model topic. Nothing much else going on really.
This is true. But just about it...

I think it's partly because people are putting their "look what I made" topics in Off-Topic instead of Creativity.
Also, this (somewhat). But not too much.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the creativity board is slowly dying? If it is, that's really saddening. Discuss the board and possible lack of creativity these days maybe? O.o

Off Topic / Re: My family is obsessed with Apple
« on: July 21, 2013, 02:25:26 AM »
I love how nearly everyone who dislikes Macs never fully give a good argument for disliking them. I use Apple, but I'm not gonna say it's better. It is what it is, and it's Apple products do exactly what they're designed to do.

What are they designed to do? Well, they're designed to make money. Just like every other computer out there. Yes, they're expensive, but it's your choice whether or not you spend that money. And don't let people try to tell you that they're made with crappy hardware. It's simply not true. It may not be as good as what you can get from a high end custom build, but most Apple products last longer than many comparable products.

What else are they designed for? Ease of use. It's much easier for an elderly, non tech-savvy person to get started with computers on a Mac than on Windows. Why? Because Apple knows how to take simplistic design and put it to good use. Really, before you bash the operating system, give it a fair review. There are only the necessary things there for a clutter free environment, but it still has all the stuff that developers and other advanced users may need.

Another thing. Macs are designed to be artfully made. Many people like their Apple because of how it looks, and there's nothing wrong with that. I could care less; I really care about functionality. But I won't put it above someone to buy something they like because of how it looks.

And perhaps the most important design aspect of the Apple computer is its functionality when it comes to being artistic, in any shape or form. Apple has it all, from video editing to music making to drawing to graphic design; the list goes on. I guarantee that of you took your Windows computer to a graphic designer and challenged them, you'd loose, and not because you might lack skill, but simply because there are so many tools available for creative work on OS X, and the operating system is designed specifically for that type of work. It does what it was made to do, and it does it well.

Don't think I'm bashing Windows, though. I love Windows for what I need it for, and wouldn't want to give it up. However, I am a fairly creative guy, and I find that a Mac simply works better for what I do on the computer most often.

The bottom line is, people need to give something a fair fighting chance before they bash it on the head and denounce it as  "unworthy". Because there's a pretty good chance, especially with such a large following, that the products aren't as bad as you're claiming them to be. Advertising works to a degree, but do you really think that so many people would be gushing over a truly poor product, even if it was advertised well? I think not. Companies do well because they are good at what they do, not bad. It's quite simple, actually.

Anyway, I hope this has been enlightening. And just so you know, I typed this whole thing... on my Apple iPod. ;)

Found it. server.cs is looking for "Vehicle_STank.cs" to execute. However, it is not found, since your script is named "Vehicle_SeigeTank.cs".

Um, hello? I do. It was one of my best subjects in school. And I find people respect you a bit more when you use proper grammar.

Lovin' the pics, Quint! Might I suggest, however, that you up the saturation slightly? Those flowers look a wee bit dreary. Unless, of course, you were going for that feeling.
