Off Topic / Blouke is going 175 miles to Yuma AZ via bicycle

i'm going to ride my bike to Yuma AZ (i live in Glendale) and it'll be fun
and long

i'm not sure what date i'm going yet since i'm still figuring out my exact route and just generally preparing for it

☑ extra bike tube
☑ a phone
☒ some money

preferred things:
    to be as light weight as possible
☑ bug spray
☒ long sleeves and pants to help prevent bug bites
☑ knife just in case i need one

let me know if i should bring anything else guys. i'm going way into the country if that means anything

i never really wanted to talk about it until now, but here goes :u
there is a tl;dr on the bottom


first a little background context.
my dad has been diagnosed with emphysema since 1999 (i was maybe a year old at that time). so the doctor told him that he seriously needs to quit smoking so he can live longer. he's been heavily smoking since he was a teen and such, around the late 60s and early 70s, not sure exactly

so since my mom smoked back then as well, they decided to quit on a certain day, i was around 1 and a half when they had their "quit smoking day" and they took a picture with them and toddler brickitect and toddler me. i don't have the picture on hand at the moment but i will edit it in if i find a copy of it


i do have an old image of him from when i was 7

this was at one of my half-sisters' weddings, i distinctly remember it was when i was 7 because i was able to take a table number home that had a 7 on it


my dad's health has been declining over the years. i didn't see anything wrong as a little kid because well i was a little kid, but apparently there was something wrong.

as i grew older, i noticed he got tired more easily, and then he started needing to use those metal oxygen bottles and an oxygen machine at home. the first memory i can think of with the bottles was when we went to the grand canyon of winter '07, we brought a couple of those with us

as i got into my early teen years he's had to use more of them and got tired after walking maybe 600 feet

very recently he couldn't walk much at all without getting really tired since his lungs were in such bad shape, we ended up having to get a motor chair for when we go out


it was on sunday, april 19, 2015 at 7:55am
my mom was looking after him over the night, and my dad got a little panicky at around 4am, wondering where she is
she was in the restroom so she wasn't very far
my brother coincidentally was up (to get water or something), and he told dad that it was okay and that she was coming right back
after mom came back he was relieved i guess? i wasn't up for any of this but mom told me about it when i woke up

after a while apparently my mom fell asleep, and during that time my dad must have slowly stopped breathing. when my mom found him not breathing at around 7:50 she called 911, and they were at our house within like 2 minutes. the paramedics came and took a look at him and they told my mom that it was too late. out there, she noted that a white butterfly flew around our house as if a higher power sent it to do so :u

we were excused from school for the week but i returned after 3 days off anyway
on monday we just sat around and did nothing, on tuesday we went to the funeral cremation place and met with my half-sisters on my dad's side
and on wednesday we went to view him, say our last goodbyes, talk to him, and all that (this part was really hard for me because it kind of made it official that he was gone)


woops forget i didn't mean to write an essay, but here are the main points (aka the tl;dr)
-my dad's health has been declining over the years from smoking
-my mom has been needing to look after him pretty much all day and all night as of late
-my mom found him not breathing at 7:50-something, called 911, they determined he was gone
-family got together and we discussed urns and stuff, and we had a viewing (again very difficult)
-we're trying to cope as i type this

so yeah. i feel better now

as a few of you know, i had a birthday last friday, i turned 17, and my dad gave me $1200 usd to spend on a new computer. i decided to get this lenovo y70:

and i love this thing so far! my only complaint is the unnecessary software on it but it's not too major, i just love it overall
i'm super happy with it. it has a touchscreen, the screen is very colorful, and it's great for the digital art i intend to do. all i need to do is to find my favorite brushes again

i will now wait for brickitect to post what he got

so i was browsing stuff on my tablet like i normally do
i went to walk to the kitchen and i forgot to unplug it from the tablet
it either broke the charger or the port

this tablet has a thing where the charger has little tabs to keep it in the tablet's port, so it pulled the charger out of the wall

so what do, autismblockland forums
and before you say "try a different charger" this thing has a port that is unique to this brand

i need someone/people to make 2 or more fonts: one for titles and another for text like paragraphs

things needed:
-high resolution (at least 500 sq px per letter for title font, 100 sq px for the small one)
-the characters a-z A-Z 0-9 , . ?
-write them in alphabetical order, not the "quick brown fox" or navy seal copypasta
-practical fonts please
-no 8bit pixel art fonts

will pay in either art or steam games afterwards

so yeah our desktop's motherboard seems to be forgeted

525w power supply
a geforce galaxy gt 640
4th gen intel core i7-2600s 65w (we also have a 2600k 95w, because dad got sent the wrong one and can't return it)

i am currently searching for a decent laptop to save up for

i'm looking to do digital art with really high resolution canvases (up to like 8000x8000 pixels)
i also need it to be reasonably modern (no 2008 laptops, that's exactly why i'm replacing this one)
and my maximum price is like 1000 dollars

specs i'm looking for:
-at least an intel core i5 processor
-not sure about the graphics card, but i'm not looking to game with it really
-at least 8 gigabytes of ram
-at least a half terabyte hard drive
-at least 3 usb ports
-hdmi port
-numpad is not required
-at least a 13" screen
-it would be nice if it had bluetooth

and before you say "get a desktop" i already have a decent desktop to art (and even game) with. i like the portability of laptops and again i'm not going to game with it

he sent me a friend request randomly on facebook last night, didnt know why but i added him
at lunch today he said i have made a huge mistake, that he was going to get his "hacker" friend to find my ip and where i live, so he can make me do drugs and stuff

i removed him from facebook right after i got home so he couldnt see my phone number

Creativity / I need to make 15 landscape drawings (SUGGESTIONS NEEDED)

So I need to make landscape drawings for a project at school
this small group of three students (including me) are doing festive christmas-y stuff for old people in this retirement home
we all agreed to make cookies, ornaments, and art for them, and i have to do the art

I have to do maybe, 15 or so drawings by december 16th
and I decided landscapes are the way to go because I don't know what all the people at that house like
so i need suggestions on paper sizes and places/themes I should draw

I get picked up by my bus at 8:10 (was 8:00) and it takes 20 minutes to get to school
Then I go through search and line up for class (usually im the first high school student to get here)

My school day has 4 periods a day, 7 total (first three are every day, the other 4 interchange every other day)

8:30 to 9:15 advisory
9:15 to 10:00 is science
10:00 to 11:30 is reading
11:30 to 12:00 is lunch
12:00 to 1:30 ais either world or US history
1:30 to 2:45 is either economics or "algebra"
I usually get picked up by my bus at 2:30 and 2:15 if my brother has an early release day
