Games / FTL: Faster Than Light
« on: September 14, 2012, 09:15:07 PM »
Faster than Light is a roguelike space game made by Matthew Davis and Justin Ma. In this game, you play the role of a single space ship, assigned with taking a note to a fleet of ships in your "Federation." Along the way, you can customize your ship in many ways, adding new parts to it, taking parts away and replacing them, changing the power at which parts do things, etc. You can also unlock entirely new ships, with completely different playstyles.

The way the general gameplay is, you have to travel from nebula to nebula, in a Starfox-64 like fashion, picking one of two paths to pick once you clear an area, and continuing along it. However, you must hurry, because you are being chased by a massive rebellion fleet, capable of absolutely wrecking you. It's possible to survive in the midst of their fleet, but extremely difficult.

This is what you will likely be staring at for 10 or so hours. The way it works, is as you accumulate crewmembers, you must micromanage them to maintain the ship, they must repair parts, put out fires, seal hull breaches, and fight off invaders. Though, a fun thing about this, though, is you can do the same exact things to your foes; set their decks on fire, break their engine or some other part of their ship, make a massive hull breach, and teleport your men in to take theirs out or just break stuff.

Games / Looking for singleplayer games with stealth/assassin elements
« on: September 08, 2012, 12:17:58 PM »
Hey, guys, recently, I've had this unquenchable thirst to play stealth/assassin games. A sort of game that combines the stealth elements of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, where there're many different options to get to an objective, and a lot of things you can use to stay undetected in an enemy area, such as vents, and also putting in plenty of assassination options, like in Assassins Creed.
