A salute to the unfinished builds

\The Story:/

Approximately one year ago, Randomguy, Myself, and Hephaestus thought up a clan named New World Builders, or NWB. The clan consisted of a few members with decent building skills. As the months passed NWB became more popular and the clan went from a small group of decent builders, to a large group of skilled builders. Today, going off what other Blockland players say, NWB is one of the most popular clans still living. Throughout this year we have made huge amounts of builds together, these builds being so huge, that most of the times we can't even finish due to various reasons. This topic is to show off all of the builds NWB has created that did not quite make it to the finish line.

Note to all NWB members: Please let me know if I forgot to credit you in a build. I can't remember every builder for all these builds.

\NWB Travel Through Time/

The Travel Though Time was NWB's first build together. It was started roughly 3 months after NWB's initial creation. The build was going to consist of four eras in time. A Medieval Era, a World War II Era, a Modern Era, and a Furture Era. The build was to utilize the Team Deathmatch add-on to place players in their era's army with time appropriate weapons. Players could then use "Portals" placed in the build to travel to different eras and fight. The build contained 43,825 bricks and was roughly 70-75% done when progress halted.

\Cruise Ship/

The 2nd build NWB attempted to take on was the creation of a full scale cruise ship with everything included on a real ship inside it. But the project was later halted when we realized the build was far to much of a challenge. A cruise ship is basically a floating city. Plus, we realized Bones4 has been working on his smaller "Titanic" build for over a year and he still is not finished. I have not provided pictures for this build due to the fact that their really isn't much to see.

\Marzipaan/

The flying city of Marzipaan was NWB's forth clan build of choice(The third was the NWB Museum whch we finished). After the complete failure of the cruise ship, NWB was looking for a new challenge to take on. At the time, NWB member Lordy Lord was working on this flying city. He welcomed NWB to adopt the build into a clan build. Now with the clan helping out we were able to significantly increase the progress on Marzipaan. Unfortunately, as the progress on the build increased, so did the brick count. It was beginning to get to the point were it was difficult for some members to get on and help, mostly due to lag. Marzipaan was eventually abandoned around 60% completed. It now stands as one of the largest builds NWB has attempted at 62,768 bricks.

\Amusement Park/

After I completed my Roller Coaster build, I decided to suggest to the clan that we do an Amusement Park build. This park would feature very detailed rides that would have events which would simulate you riding them. Sadly to say, the park did not get very far. By the time we got started, school was right around the corner, and it claimed most of our members time. I am not going to say the build idea is dead, but it is resting. It currently has 14,647 bricks. Maybe some day it will be completed.

Note: The rides were assembled seperate to ensure we had enough room. Upon completetion we were going to design a park and dupe the rides in.

Let me just start off by saying this build is NOT dead. I just felt that since I have this huge topic I might as well include the clan's current build. This build started on the BLU clan server. It was going to be used for the build contest. Unfortunately, the contest was soon shut down for no reason. But then we figured, "Hey, why not just load it on our dedi and make it a clan build?". So we did. So far, only part of the exterior is done, but it is still in progress. So far it has 12,095 bricks. We hope to actually finish this one.

I hoped you enjoyed the builds we put so much work into but never got to see the light of the gallery until now. I actually planned this topic out 4 days ahead of today for one reason. I felt it would be proper to post this on NWB's anniversary. Thats right, NWB has been running for one year now. We put great effort into making the builds we create perfect. We are a great team and get along very well...for the most part. :P

Though we don't always finish what we start, you can expect much much more from this clan that everyone has come to know as New World Builders.

I honestly can't understand how someone this stupid can function in society. He is a child completely oblivious to the fact that nobody wants him around. He also makes posts that are so handicapped it is difficult if not impossible to understand. His profile says he is 14 but I highly, higly doubt it.

Off Topic / Back injury, worse then it seems?

About 2 weeks ago I was at work. I went to bend down to pick something up when all of the sudden tremendous pain shot through my back. It lasted for a couple of mins. then seemed to go away unless I moved a certain way. So I figured it was a pulled muscle, I took some Motrin, put some heat on, and forgot about it.

A couple of days went by and the pain went away. I was playing football for about 3 hours and everything was fine dispite all of the running, tackling, ex. The next day in school I was just walking and I got that same pain, it also lasted for about the same time. Now, yesturday I got that same pain again. 3 muscle pulls in a time period of roughly 2 weeks? Seems strange.

I want some advice on this, just some pulled muscle or something more serious?

There are not even words to describe his stupidity. His roostery and bipolar attitude get extremely annoying to deal with. One minute he will be acting fine, the next he will be flipping stuff on someone cramming every bit of vulgar language he can into a post.

I find that quite ironic, as you somehow decide the barge into the thread bitch slapping me in the face for getting pissed off about something you shouldn't even care about.

I is painfully obvious in some quotes that is he trying to act like a tough guy. Some of his posts even hint at arrogance. Plus, all of the times he flips out are normally for invalid reasons.

Off Topic / Steering failures are a bitch

Today seemed like it was going to be a normal day, the school day just let out and I was driving. It was a rainy day so the roads were a bit slick.

I've been driving long enough to become an expert at making turns quickly. I was sitting in the intersection waiting for oncoming traffic to clear so I could turn. The oncoming traffic's light turned yellow so I sped up to make the turn, but when I went to turn the wheel, it suddenly locked up and become close to impossible to move. I wasent expecting this so I had no time to make a hard turn, my car ended up going off the road and sliding halfway down the embankment.

It was a very scary feeling. Turns out somewhere along the way my power steering failed and the car failed to notify me.

But everything is ok now, I was able to get the car back on the road and drive it home, dispite having to put a large amount of force into turning the steering wheel.

Scary stuff.

Ok, so I was on Regulith's server starting to build a house. I noticed some guy named "whitewolf010" spamming. He was making something similar to what you see in the upper right hand corner of the chat screenshots, only longer.

Regulith proceded to clear his spam and then we got some serious laughs:

Drama / Bandwagon- Because having the same beliefs as someone means you're jumping on it

Honestly, I'm getting sick of seeing people getting called out for "Hoping on the bandwagon" falsely. Did any of you ever stop to think that people have the same beliefs on a subject? It's not someones fault if a person before them posted their exact beliefs. And they should be able to post these beliefs without being called out as a bandwagoner.

A bandwagoner is someone who agrees with other people not knowing anything on the subject simply to "fit in with the crowd".

Examples of false bandwagon accusations:

It seems that instead I pissed off a few of you off and the rest hopped on the band wagon.

Quit trying to jump on the bandwagon, friend.

So just because some people hate it.there  is a reason to jump on the bandwagon.

These are just some of the many false bandwagon accusations reason I found using Search.

Point being, people have their own opinions, and agreeing with someone doesn't always mean they are jumping on the loving bandwagon.

Gallery / [NWB] Community Build- Halloween Town

Halloween Town

Some of you may remember Lord Tony's "Halloween Town". It was a community build where anyone could join, pick a piece of land, and build their own spooky build. It was a huge hit. This year NWB is bringing back a new and improved version of Halloween Town. The town will consist of haunted houses, pumpkins, and everything in between! This community build will start on October 4th and and last until October 30th.

Server Rules:

• Spammy builds will be deleted.
• Build on a 48x48 baseplate, and leave at least a 4 stud wide perimeter open around the plate. This will make the houses look less cramped.
• No asking for admin. This also means no asking for it to load or dupe faster, you aren't getting it.
• No lone vehicle spawns, weapon spawns, or bricks of any kind.
• Do not complain about an admins actions unless it is justified.
• No glitching to make it to the outside of the barrier.

Breaking any of the above rules will result in an immediate kick/ban from the server depending on how serious the offense is.

The Server:

Halloween Town will be hosted on the NWB Dedicated Server. The server is generally up 24/7. If you notice the server is either down or passworded, and the server status still says "Online", please let us know in either this topic or on the NWB Clan topic.

Off Topic / Armed stand-off

So me and my class are just sitting around talking at the end of the school day. It was 5 minutes until the bell rang and we would have been free. Just then, our principle comes on the loudspeaker and tells us the school is going into lockdown and noone can leave. We were all pissed. While we were sitting in there I started getting texts saying what was happening, apperantly some guy was having an armed stand-off with police a few blocks away. It we were in school for an extra half hour past the time we should have gotten out.

After I finally got out, me and a couple of friends drove to the scene where this all happened. Apperantly SWAT was called in and when they went to breach the house the gunman shot himself, ending the stand-off. This was our citys first barricaded stand-off in awhile.

Today it was brought to my attention that we are getting quite alot of people now putting "[GSF]" in there names.

And this is not all, I just noticed "[GSF]Ace 4045" and "[GSF] Ace 4995" on the IRC chat list, and there are even others beside all of them.

Apparently [GSF] is also considered a race to some people (The person he was chatting with wished to remain anonymous:

So if you think that other people putting [GSF] in there names is wrong apparently you are a tribal.

Aside from that, this also happened on Lord Tony's server today:

It puzzles me how two people could have the same name, but with different IDs, but that is beside the point.

Anyone else been noticing the increase in people with [GSF] in there names?

Off Topic / Possible Virus?

Yesturday I was just roaming around on the forums and suddenly it quit me out of the current internet page and brought me too a page saying I have up to 64 critical trojan viruses on my computer, and wants me to pay money for it to fix them.

The thing is though, the site saying all this dosent sound legit. I have never heard of this program before and I am in no way subscribed to it. Aside from that, my current virus prtection program isn't locating anything this random program is talking about.

This apperant "protection program" DLed itself onto my computer and is not letting me delete it. It is also sending little pop-up messages saying there are viruses.

This program is called "Personal Antivirus".

Does this sound legit or has it happened to anyone else?

Gallery / Roller Coaster

The Build:

Well one day I joined "Zoneark's amusement park freebuild" and began construction on a small roller coaster. The reqiurements were you had to build on a 32x32 baseplate so I wanted to make a "Wild mouse" style coaster. I had the station complete but after that I hadent seen the server up in awhile so I started building the coaster on my own time.

I really wanted to finish this project because I have really never seen a roller coaster ever made with effort in Blockland. This project was really fun to make. It took me all together maybe 5 hours and it contains 4,138 bricks.

This was a completely new building style for me, I have never made a roller caoster or even any type of ride since I had Blockland.

A special thanks goes to Randomguy for giving me advice on some areas and hosting a server for me when I needed one.

I noticed the first problem with him right here:

Once he started getting flamed by members, he assumed using huge amounts of vulgarity in his posts towards players would make them go away:
