flails are impractical as richards because they take time to learn to use and train with and require multiple small parts to be forged (no easy task in the middle ages) to function as intended
a morning star is by comparison much simpler in design with a modest leather strap and pointed macehead that while similar to a flail is easier to put into use

« on: April 22, 2014, 11:43:58 PM »yeah but what would be worse slice by a sword or slowly beaten to death by a metal pipeif they're wearing any armor, a mace would be a better choice because it would make a nice dent in the armor and the man, where a sword in the same situation would have much more difficulty
