I've been having this problem with my PC I built

I was playing DOTA 2 when it suddenly turned off, at first I thought it was the graphics card overheating so I waited for it to cool down then I turned it back on. The monitor stayed black and I didn't get a splash screen, or bios, or anything. The fans of my computer (case, CPU, and GPU) turn on A-OK, and I can open/close the CD rom drive. What could be the problem and how do I fix it? I already removed my current GPU and plugged the monitor right into the motherboard.

And another thing, the power-button on the case of my computer turns it on, but I can't turn it off with the power-button, I have to turn off the PSU itself.

Any help?

I love this game. I absolutely love it. I can chase down flag carriers and kill them as a loving TECHNICIAN!

And planting turrets in their base is fun too.
