Shocker, the basement hatch is locked, too, so you decide to take a peek through the vent. You can see a few crates of Problem Solver ammo and the remote that locks and unlocks the basement hatch. The vent doesn't seem to come out of place, sadly. If only you had something that you could lower down to nab the remote. It's not like you located some twine in a compartment on a certain tunic-like thing or anything.
