Some games handle HP differently. Having 0 HP could mean he's beyond dead or just incapacitated.

Besides, taking 6 damage from a knife strike and then 100 from a wall makes me suspicious.

He was slammed up against a concrete wall. That's GOT to mean something.

You decide to do nothing, since it seems pretty logical. Then he just flings that loving knife and opens a gaping wound across your chest for six damage. Now you're bleeding, and you lose 1 HP for every turn. You better get this stuff done.
