You two morons are going to end my want to keep checking this board if this is all I have to look forward to. Shut up.
Don't worry, you only have to check it once a fortnight at this rate.

Drama / Re: Aware14: "Everyone on the Forums can rot in hell"
« on: September 04, 2011, 02:15:41 AM »
I posted a topic about him after he left the forums and sent me a silly pm (http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=145001.0). Since he interacted with me on Age of Time before he left, I probably could have tried to convince him that we're not all bad, but he really wasn't worth the effort.

I really like some of their older music, Runaway, Faint, Figure.09, Hybrid Theory and Meteora tracks. I consider "Bleed It Out" the death of them.

It would be possible if somehow the bricks were generated differently than using RAM.
...

Hmm...

Well maybe... hmm...

Nope, can't figure this one out.
Can someone explain this to me?

Just because a new version is coming and in use privately doesn't mean we drop bug support for the latest, public version of it. We still don't know any exact times RTB4 will be ready, so keeping RTB3 working is still a priority.
Should we put the IRC bugs on the list for the next version then?

General Discussion / Re: "omg dont cuss!"
« on: September 02, 2011, 12:18:09 PM »
I agree with the first line.
As for the second I disagree. I classify curse words as what they are, because they have inappropriate meaning, they are used in the intention to cuss, and they are often used in anger, or in insults, or in vulgar conversation. I don't think that makes them "bad," necessarily, but that does make them inappropriate.
As for the third line, let's take an easy one for example, donkey. That word isn't bad or inappropriate, but people have gradually changed the meaning of the synonym to become a curse word. It is used in the same place as curse words, it is used as having another meaning, things like that.
Who says they have "inappropriate meaning" in the first place? He's saying that you're the one who decided anger, insulting people, and vulgar conversation are inappropriate for you. You seem to be applying this personal belief to everyone, though.

Can you please explain to me how cursing shows your maturity? Because I personally don't see it.
Children in our society are misguided by their parents and most other adults into thinking that there is something wrong with saying the word "forget," among many others. As said above, people decide for themselves what a word means to them. Saying something akin to the imposed delusion ("Cussing is bad, don't say bad words!"), implies you have blindly accepted the teachings that arbitrary words are inappropriate. Even if by some chance you decided on your own that these words are inappropriate, you're likely to get caught up with the main group.

Another complication to reading people is that many people think that they're cooler if they go against their parents' verdict, whether or not they understand it. This leads to idiots who believe they are better for saying "stuff" as every other word in their sentence. They become a second group as an offshoot of the first, but usually eventually end up forming their own opinions far enough down the line. You are clearly not of this group.

Summary:
First group: Cussing is bad!!!
Second group: forget forget stuff starfish forget rooster lololol
Third group: Formed independent opinions on what should be said and when.

So to answer your question, although not a direct link to maturity, people can be judged by where they stand on the matter. If they are in group 1, since many people in that group eventually split off to form group 2 or even move directly into group 3, it often implies they are rather young. If they fit into group 2, they're just making fools of themselves. Someone in group 3 may find cursing annoying, but they won't make a big deal about it.

I promise this wasn't originally supposed to be this long.

Thanks for ruining half the point of blockland, jerk. Just cause a FEW starfishs steal credit someone has to go and ruin the fun for everyone.
Don't worry, he doesn't really seem to know what he's talking about.

The mod wouldn't be an addon.  It would be an executable program that would run WITH Blockland to transfer the data.

Badspot can't bypass this.  Once released, if at all, every person can change the .exe name of the program and it would be untraceable.  (Of course, change the save location as well - at the very least it would be a pain in the ass to try to block it based on how it acts within the game.)
You don't have to detect the program that's screwing with the game, just make the game so it can't be screwed with.

I think you should just turn this into a completely opinion/rant blog instead of trying to be so much like a news source.

Does it? I managed to boot up Portal 2 just fine when my steam couldn't connect to the internet by running the exe.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: The (Near) Solution to Build Stealing
« on: August 31, 2011, 09:45:46 PM »
It would.

What one could do is create a script that, upon loading something that uses the old brick names, it sets the new names equal to the old names. Something like that; I haven't scripted anything in like four months so I'm pretty much talking out of my ass here.
Badspot said that if something managed to successfully disable a client's ability to save, he'd do something to break such a script. Let's not give anyone ideas that could lead to our modding capacity being further restricted in exchange for a couple months of semi-protected builds on select servers.
