General Discussion / Re: Donation Systems for Servers
« on: November 09, 2013, 10:11:18 AM »
I'm curious whether anybody that has donation systems is reporting them on tax forms.

I doubt it. Badspot hasn't specifically said that no one but him can gain money from server donations/server hosting, so technically it would seem to be just as if a friend you know gave you $5 for being a good friend.

Human: How are you?
Badspot: Everything is going extremely well.

Human: Banned anyone recently?
Badspot: Not many people express themselves that way.

Dad works 7-7. It's nice being able to stay home alone, but it can be troublesome work/school-wise. Luckily, he only works every other couple of days.

I think it's fine as long as new players don't start out with a toy gun and a carrot to stick up someones ass.

Like you can buy differently functioning weapons that are balanced to eachother and the starters for variety

Agreed. I forgot to mention that servers that use pistols for starters are terribly outbalanced, but a mix of weapons allows for fairness.

wasn't there that issue with having those assholic "buyable weapons" things that sparked a giant-ass argument

Buyable weapons have more or less died on out popular servers now, though the less-popular try to use it once in a while, even though it leads to crazy levels of difficulty for new players.

trying to think of a really lame "typhoon" pun

You just blow me away.

General Discussion / Re: General Opinions on Personal add-ons?
« on: November 06, 2013, 05:54:22 PM »
Private addons serve no purpose other than to brag about how you have it and others don't.

Personal addons, however, serve a purpose for a specific server. They serve to make servers stand out, like they should and do, unlike private addons which get muddled after being passed around so much.

However, I think that personal addons should get released after you are done with them, unless you plan to use them for future ideas.
