Those of you that know me know that I am a very big gamer: I have played almost EVERY modern MMO, MMORPG, FPS, racing game and the like at one point, especially during betas and alphas. Recently, I became bored of Blockland, so I figured, "I'll just download one of my favorite MMOs and spend a month playing that! That'll be swell!"

First option:

I had recieved an e-mail saying one of the company's other games was to shut down, and I recieved a 'care package.' So I download Allods, get my character setup, go for my package, guess loving what: EUROPE ONLY forget YOU AMERICA HAHAHAHA BET YOU WISH YOU HAD A HORSE MOUNT SO YOU COULD GO 80% FASTER WELL GUESS WHAT forget YOU
I got to level 8, then got tired of the fact that over the course of an hour, you see MAYBE three players.

Second option:

loving LOVE this stuff man, I had an elf that I had been spending so much time on, the graphics rox my sox, the skills, all the money and time I put into it, my pets, the people I grew to know and love... Hell, I almost got married once (day of the wedding her dad smashed her laptop in a drunken stupor, 2 years later we met up in a plaza. She was married. To a giant. A giant who was 500x stronger than me.

Guess what? Nexon decided forget YOU and deleted my account worth $75 in just mounts, pets and player cards, NOT including my items, skills, time spent, achievements, etc. Of ALL things, my mabi account. This was heart breaking.

Third option:

Hot damn this is the coolest FPS for a PC that doesn't require you to pay EVER. My forgetin' KDR on this stuff started creeping towards 3.17 with my assault class, and I had gotten this sweet ass assault rifle with a built in silencer, I literally stacked up kills like Chris Ferguson stacks up poker chips (I'm not actually sure if he stacks or just piles.) I would sweep through a map and get 27 kills before people could even land a SHOT on me.

NOPE, can't play this game, nuh uh, your computer refuses to download THIS stuff, your not good enough forget YOU, But don't worry we'll make sure the launcher, setup and space of your computer is all setup and working, that way you have to uninstall it all knowing that it WON'T WORK NO MATTER WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE TELLS YOU TO DO

Fourth option:

Okay so it's not the most riveting game, but I mean cmon being able to sail ships with abilities like torcreepes, giant cannons, side spears and ramming spears? Pretty forgetin' A on my list. Personally I like torcreep ships: run and gun. Hit 'em for a crit, land some spells on that sucka (preferably slow / stun) and make some distance.

Alaplaya (the company that owns Florensia) appears to have forgotten what a password is, as not only can I not log in, but I cannot retrieve my password OR username, and yes I know I am using the right email because I have ALL of my emails attached to my phone, and yes I waited more than two days. Nothin'.

LAST HOPE PLEASE GOD PLEASE:

Literally my childhood. Not many know of endless, because it wasn't a pivotal game of it's time. Retro style graphics and a strange camera view turned away many, but the community and excitement enthralled me. Drop parties, aka when rich players dropped random items and gold all around the map as a game, a disco room where for 5g you could pick a song (and they had some forgetin' awesome rock music.) Hell, they had lutes and harps with a compose skill so you could play your song note by note. My friend list maxed out at 257, and one day the servers shut down because of a hacker.

But it came back. Just not for me. Oh no, I can't have the download for it. Doesn't matter what source or file or anything. You can't. Nope. Just get out. Stop trying. Why loving bother.
So yeah, pretty much every game I have ever enjoyed or bothered to play has, in some way, forgotten / rejected me this entire week, and rather than happily gaming, I've spent my computer time doing maintenance, trouble shooting and trying to get a functional game working.





On a completely unrelated note, I played in my final guitar concert for the year and did a pretty great job, I also managed some of the technical stuff and the teacher is 'proud' of me. I'll be playing in a coffee shop on Wednesday with some of my fellow guitarists, and we'll have our award winning chorus singing for MOST of us (I got TWO chorus girls singing for me ;) Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson, Ill see about recording a video.)

Games / Question: Fallen Earth

Okay so I used to play fallen earth, and I actually got pretty far (somewhere around level 30). With that, I had found an excellent source of $$$, but it involved crafting on a HUUUUGE scale. Then they updated the game so that non-members could only craft ONE item at a time. Well, that kinda killed everything for me, and I went from having roughly 6 mill to $500~ at any given time.

Recently I've gone on an MMORPG spree out of sheer boredom, first trying Allods online only to realize the playerbase is pretty much dead. Then I jumped to Florensia because I love the naval combat, but then it's just loving hit and run with my ship, so I stopped that too... AVA was fun for a while, but /genericFPS. Fallen Earth is pretty much the light of my eye, but with that damn update restricting crafting, playing is a pain in the ass, as I have no money to do what I like.

THE QUESTION
Are non-members of Fallen Earth still restricted to 1 item (crafting) at a time?

So BSA has released this amongst the boyscouts and their families... If you can't see the bottom line, here's what it reads:
"No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of loveual orientation or preference alone."

Wow. BSA could be allowing gays finally. I really hope this gets passed. I'm tired of people not getting what they deserve after all their hard work, just because of their loveual preferences.

Okay so I was in the car today driving from a college tour, and my iPhone died, so I wasn't able to use SoundHound (listens to music and tells you name/artist/extra info.) I tried desperately to make out what the singer was saying, but all I could make out was "one love..." and "two hearts..." It sounded like a Bon Jovi esque guitar and I'm not really sure how to describe the lead singer. The song is definitely a little older, maybe early 2000 or 1990s, possibly 80s, I have no idea.

Hopefully someone can get to the bottom of this, because I've been looking for the past hour on every lyric search engine I can find.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?

I just got finished watching my personal favorite, The Iron Giant (directed by Bradd Bird, Warner Bros.) Definitely my favorite movie of all time, even the little cheesy parts (guns kill people, the I love yous, everything.) That and the giant is a total bad ass if you piss him off. There was supposed to be a sequel but they never got around to it... I hope someday SOMEONE makes a sequel with the same art style and all, that would be awesome.

So I heard this song a reeeaaaaally long time ago, and a recent post on the forums included this song. My "woah this would be fun" instincts kicked in, and I realized I really wanna do a Blockland music video to 'Icecube - It was a good day' (link at top)I can do the general setup. I've got plenty of experience with building / eventing, so that's not a problem unless you really wanna make props.

The following scenes are what I had in mind in sync with the song - Ice wakes up, looks around
 - Ice eats breakfast, dog sitting on ground
 - girl calls Ice on cell
 - Ice gets in regular convertible Turismo
 - scene where Ice slowly drives by a crowd of thugs with bouncy convertible Turismo ("and if I hit the switch, I can make the aaaass drop")
 - Ice stops at a red light, looks around, face changes to handsome-man (not sure on name)
 - Ice gets ANOTHER girl call, this time he's on the phone nodding and smiling
 - Ice plays basketball
 - lots of scenes of driving around, small cuts
 - slow drive by new thugs, all armed to the teeth (random weps), stare down, then they all look at each other when he passes
 - Ice drives by a police car @ an intersection
 - Ice plays dice game (fakekillbrick events on vertical plates)

THE QUESTION:
Can one ENJOY drama, and all that surrounds it?
What is to be enjoyed? What is to be shied from?
Post your thoughts.

The question occurred to me while doing what I call my "stuff posts." While admittedly I can stuffpost, I use the term loosely and literally: I only view drama, on the stuffter. What better place? I mean, for all intensive purposes, its a pile of stuff. I can't remember for the life of me where I heard this, but someone said something along the lines of "People on the Internet are so horrible, if they see something they don't like, rather than avoid it, they make a big deal about it. It's like walking down the road and finding a pile of stuff. Rather than walk around, you jump up and down, pointing and screaming at it, rolling around in it, and just make a mess of everything."

Personally, I find drama to be a good tool, as well as being similar to driving. If your about to reach a speed trap, and the driver heading your way flashes you his lights: he's tipping you off. This is valuable information. Should you be speeding? Well no, but... Should you speed in front of a cop? No. At the same time, you can't instantly trust everyone. There are mistakes, and there are fakes. You have to understand and asses the situation well enough to make your own decision.

But that's just me. So what's your take on drama? Worthless? Worth-something? Post it.
Forgive any type error, I'm mobile ATM and its 2:05 am, and google chrome literally got the worst update ever, I can hardly type, and correcting is a bitch.

I'll be hosting a simple MERP occasionally, and it'll utilize public bricks, pre-built terrain. I will be on fairly constantly because this is mostly for my sanity / a chance to play around.

Fanstasy: allowed (this works on a DEFCON level system, four levels, find out more by coming to the server.)
era: medieval
Realism: yes yes yes (aka cannons do not shoot 20 miles and people cannot cross the entire server-map in 5 seconds)
Naval: LIMITED. Large ships cannot, realistically, fit. Smaller boats like sail boats and row boats, however, can.

I don't really feel like making one of my nice organized topics, and I kinda just wanna list out all that's sort of going wrong lately:
-  Tophius's new update to wedge bricks removed the 1x1 bricks, and the new bricks aren't even that critical to have. On top of that, the update changed the orientation of ALL of his bricks, so even the bricks that did stay, are now facing the wrong direction.
-  Lately servers have been pretty stuffty, the only notable servers worth playing on being pecon's boss battles (which has like 4 people so it's hardly functional), Kris's mini empires and potentially Tezuni's (don't gimme crap about that, I personally don't like going there because the entire admin team turned against me and let power get to their heads.)
-  the community seems to be slowly dying. I see fewer and fewer people online, and fewer of my friends are online. People are losing interest in the game.

I'm most upset about the corner bricks but I know tophius is working on it

Off Topic / Samurai jack hoodie: make or buy one?

Because I got so many positive responses to the general idea, I also wanna try my hand at my own design. I'm not very good at hand-drawn images, so I'll be using adobe photoshop and any good images I can find lying around on the internet. I'll include picture-progress of my work daily and I should hopefully be done on Friday.

Monday plan: Working on TBD jail escape server topic title, no SJ work
Tuesday plan: make rough drafts, find images
Wednesday plan: begin work, crunch time
Thursday plan: get some more work done, should be about 75% done at this point
Friday plan: finish it up, make different variations (font types, effects, glow/fade, etc)


So as some of you may know, I recently got my adobe photoshop CS5 associate's cert.
I love working in adobe and I can pull off some pretty neat stuff.

Recently a topic came up and samurai jack was mentioned. Samurai Jack, is in all senses, my childhood hero. I LOVE everything about the show. And so I got to thinking: I don't have any merchandise from the show, and I need new clothes anyways...

So here's what I'm considering: either a pull-over hoodie OR an organic/athletic fit T-shirt.

I can try and make my own design in photoshop. For that, what I had in mind would be to have a solid black hoodie, with a red sun burst (Japanese flag) with the center in the bottom right. But rather than have the sun's center be the red circle, I wanted to have a silhouetted Jack, with his eye looking to the wearer's left (aka looking behind jack.) then on the back, I would try and find a good oriental font and have some big, all caps saying from the show like "THE FUTURE IS AKU" or "FOOLISH SAMMURAI WARRIOR"

So yeah, I have surgery tomorrow, this'll be my fourth operation, and odds are I'm going to hate every minute of it (more on that in a bit.) This isn't anything new, as it's been reoccuring since 2010, and I've made topics on this before.

I even have a picture so EVERYONE could be traumatized with me!

This time, I have two stones 'technically', one on each side. Really it's just large clumps of stones that are interconnected with small structures between, but they're frail so they could easily turn into a BUNCH of stones, but nothing passable. They'll basically be removing two golfballs from my kidneys, one each. They'll be working on BOTH of my kidneys at the same time, except from "different angles of approach," which I'll leave you guys to figure out the meaning of that.

Worst part is, when I wake up, odds are I'll have a catheter (not providing any images of that for various reasons.), and I've been promised stents as well, depending on how well both sides of my operation go. I could potentially have three tubes protruding out of my pecker. forget. My. Life. To add to it, SOMEHOW I always end up with the most attractive nurses in the building. It's not rocket-science knowing that, being that I'm a guy, odds are i'll get a hard on right? No problem there. Except for the loving catheter.

I'll be posting on this topic throughout my stay at the hospital from a 2005 macbook my mom gave me, odds are I'll be in there for three days... Might play with Adobe Photoshop (even though it's CS2 lol) while I'm there. We'll see.

So I was joking around with some friends yesterday while working on a project of mine, and I wondered out loud "What if we gave everyone ban hammers that could kick people, but didn't require admin to do so..."

We laughed, pondering the fury that would be the chat, all caps and foul language and "EAT stuff." But then I stepped it up a notch: what if I was typing something, and RIGHT as I got hit, my sentence was cut off and a hypen was added to the end. This would be like you were talking, but got cut off mid-sentence. For example:

AdinX BANNED Bob
AdinX: LOL EAT THAT SUCKA
Bob connected.
Bob: Yo wtf I totally had you.
AdinX: Lol no you d-
JoeShmoe BANNED AdinX
Bob: Lol nice
JoeShmoe: ;)

This would probably require a server to be a dedi, but at the same time I've been kicked from my own server and it has remained operational, so I imagine anything is possible with this one. It's just a concept, and I'm curious what people would think of something like this. I have no desire to make this sort of DM, I just thought "Gee, why not present the idea to the forums, maybe someone might use it."

So yeah, discuss I guess, not really any pros or cons since it's all a game.

The Eight Rules
Every Server Should Have

Often times when a user joins a server, there is a set of rules that they are expected to follow. Between servers, these rules can be very reasonable, or they can be easily abused (or they are just really stuffty rules like "no cigarettes.") More often than not, I find myself in servers where there are NO rules, players are just sort of EXPECTED to follow the unwritten code of conduct. Often, this happens to work fairly effectively, the more logical and experienced players remain, but the lesser players and the less experienced find SOME way to get into trouble.

tl;dr - I think we should, as a community, compile a basic list of rules amongst servers, not as a necessity, but as a reference.
Now, before I get stormed with questions, I know someone is gonna ask: Why eight questions, Adin? The answer to that is more or less my mindset. The way I see it, if a server is supposed to have five rules, then they can pick  five of the eight pre-made rules. Or, if they need ten rules, then they can use any of these eight that they like, and then add in the additional rules that may pertain to their server (no camping on TDMs, no spam on freebuilds, etc.)


Rule #1. Do not spam (in relation to both building, and the chat)

Rule #2. Use common sense. If you wouldn't do it on your own server, don't do it here.

Rule #3. Please report any badmins to the host. If the host is the badmin, deal with it.

Rule #4. No instigation (bad mouthing a religion, putting down others, racism, loveism, the like.)

Rule #5. Follow the administration's instructions down to the punctuation. If an admin says stop, stop.
