Sure they can

And they can watch as the ammount of income, boy scouts, support and graduating eagle scouts drops as everyone else across the entirety of the human race realizes that just because someone is gay, doesn't mean they necessarily want to forget you.

BSA relies heavily on donations, aside from popcorn sales and council-based fundraisers. While BSA really hasn't gotten any smaller, at the same time they are missing out on a fair ammount of scouts and extra income.

Also, and this is more of a question: would banning gays in a public organization be discrimination? If so, why is it not discrimination in a private group?

I am as well. There are 120 scouts in my troop, everyone knows me, and most everyone knows I accept scientific theory / darwinism / theory of evolution over the bible (little bit of agnostic / pastafarian, there are some things yet to be explained, and I'm not going to tell people there ISN'T a god.)

I guess as long as you treat people well and you have SOME religious views, they'll let you get eagle. Which I'm working on right now ;)

OT: I don't see why it matters what Christianity says, considering BSA is a multi- cultural organization that allows multiple religious views. BSA can't base everything it does around the church, otherwise it would just be another church.

banning drugs makes them more prevalent, therefore, legalization would not create some hell in a handbasket scenario that everyone makes it out to be. We proved this with prohibition.

But would that not be the same as removing the murder law and hoping nobody goes around killing people?

So BSA has released this amongst the boyscouts and their families... If you can't see the bottom line, here's what it reads:
"No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of loveual orientation or preference alone."

Wow. BSA could be allowing gays finally. I really hope this gets passed. I'm tired of people not getting what they deserve after all their hard work, just because of their loveual preferences.

Server really filled up tonight, peaking at 14/15. Players have really begun to establish their empires. Multiple map problems have been discovered, and their solutions are already underway. Tomorrow, before the server goes public, I'll be making modifications to better improve the server for everyone.

If things progress well, I might have a list in the OP of the top 5 empires

Well, over the course of trying to fix the server/map, a lot of things broke. I still have the save of course, but... Well, playing doesn't seem like it'll happen. I've looked into almost every possibility, but the thing is: if someone deletes ONE brick, an entire 32x32 area falls. There is no way to fix this without either making an entire new map, or flattening the map, which would roughly quadruple the already very high brick count.

For the moment, I'm discontinuing the server, unless I can think of a better fix.
