Games / Re: Max Payne 3 seems dead on the 360...

when i played drake's deception on ps3 multiplayer, that was enough to realize how bad third person multiplayer shooters are. the only fun ones are grand theft auto games, and that's because they don't add a bunch of ridiculous combat moves, and even then, the only way you can kill somebody in a third person shooter is by blindy shooting until they're dead, because aiming is terrible in third person, and auto aim, like in gta, is so stupid.

I can definitely see what you're getting at. Yeah, aiming in third person can be quite the hassle. And i really didn't like auto aim, Soft lock is tolerable, but i couldn't stand people just instantly locking onto me and just holding the trigger. Max Payne's combat really was different than most other third person shooters. I don't know what it was but it felt right. Unlike most other third person shooters where you really do just spray and pray.

The single player was  amazing. I also feel like the multi player was well built. Sure there was some op weapons and everything. But i loved fighting rival crews and the bullet time worked really well.

If you guys are looking for a pretty sweet community i would suggest with going with UO (united operations). They're really friendly and they aren't the hardcore realism douche bag types. Although, if you're into realism and huge 50 man operations, They do plenty of that. Here's some links.

I hope this helps you guys find a great community and really enjoy the game to its full potential.

Oh man, all my want for this game. Seriously. I remember getting all my friends and battling the cops all around the city for about 2 hours in GTA IV. I can't wait for all the improvements and awesome features. I really do hope melee is fixed in multiplayer, along with gun play. Also, my social club crew will reign havoc upon free roam lobbies. Muhahaha

I'm currently replaying this game and it's bringing back memories of how entertaining the multi-player was. But last time i got on the game to search for a match with my friends, it was dead. I think there was only a few hundred people playing. I'm just wondering if you guys have noticed the same thing or have actually found a decent match here and there.

Don't know if you guys have heard of this or not, it just seemed relevant. http://segabits.com/blog/2013/02/16/another-gearbox-worker-takes-to-reddit-says-segas-money-funded-the-borderlands-franchise/

And i know the source material for this story isn't so reliable (being Reddit and all) But if it IS true, That would be bad news bears.

Suggestions & Requests / Spy and Covert Operations
« on: May 21, 2011, 06:14:08 AM »
Hi guys, I was just pondering this idea when i was thinking about making a CIA vs. KGB type of cold war era team death match. But then all of these ideas came to mind for some really cool, but ambitious and somewhat far out ideas.

                     Generic weapons

These weapons are going to be relativley cold war era based.

  • Silenced MAC-10: I know they're are versions of this out there. But some of them dont quite appeal to the needs that i am searching such as believable sounding silencer and plausible model.
  • Small placement explosives: We have C4 i know this. But they tend to be pretty large and not very practical for stealth and concealment. I'm talking about a somewhat small explosive that can be placed anywhere and different orientations

                     Covert Weapons

Now these are weapons that are the far out and ambitious ones.

  • Briefcase Gun: It's exactly what it sounds like. A briefcase with a hidden silenced pistol with about 5 shots in it. The reason for 5 shots is because you dont want people running around with briefcases shooting like mad men.
  • Garrote: Think of The series Hitman. CIA used this weapon in operations for quick, Clean, and effective kills. Its a strangling weapon that is basically just two handles and piano wire. I'm not sure if this could be done but i just thought it would be awesome to sneak up behind someone and strangle them to death.
Player types and other essentials

These are the things that will make these games operational.

  • Headshot and reduced jump player types: Again, It's what it sounds like. The reason for this is that if you are trying to eliminate your target you dont want to take 5 shots. That doesn't sound too stealthy does it? With this player type you could simply pull out your silenced weapon and put one in his head and walk away
  • A disguise system and randomly clothed bots: Imagine you are playing on the Afgahnistan build. And you want to blend in with the populace to reduce suspicion. You could be clothed as one of these bots and blend in. Although unusual actions would get you noticed and eventually you would be a dead spy.

There are some other suggestions i had for this pack. But i just thought of listing the essentials. Again, Some of these might not be possible and i am sorry if i sound like a fool for listing them. I Just thought this was a cool idea that could create a new tier of DM and TDM games.

Decent music produced by children that have a little talent. I think its a refreshment to see kids that sing that dont sound like a crate of baboons being lit on fire and kicked down a hill.
