Modification Help / Vehicle not casting shadow when there's transparent faces?

Only things casting shadows are the wheels and the lights. So the main body object and window object are not casting shadows. I don't know what I did to cause this, but it was working fine.

I'm exporting as triangle strips (I've heard not doing this causes shadow issues?). Anyway, any help is much appreciated!

 If you want the .blend file for it, just ask and I'll PM it to you.  And if there's any info you need, just ask, and I'll definitely tell you, this has been bugging me for the past couple days.

Ok, so I fixed it, sort of. When I removed the transparent windows, it started casting shadows again. So now I can have either windows or shadows. :/

Georges' Vehicles Topic

Recently, I started modeling a Mercedes C Class for Blockland. I've enjoyed it quite a bit, so I've decided I want to start making vehicles. I don't wanna start planning to far ahead, but I would like to create next Mini Cooper and then some sort of crossover.

I'm not currently taking suggestions. I haven't even finished the first car yet.
Things I'd like to include in my vehicles
-Hands on support
-Steering wheel animations
-Eventually Custom Vehicle Support
    -I am hoping I can at least add this on the C300 to allow custom colors, but we'll see.
Current projects:

Bengs C300
based on the Mercedes C Class

  -Add CVS to allow custom colors.

Current glitches/issues:
Blender isn't exporting the node names correctly, so CVS can't find the nodes.


I hope to also make a C63 AMG variant as well, once I get the normal C300 finished.
I don't want to get ahead of myself, so I'll probably only do one vehicle at a time.

Anyway, feel free to discuss, and if you have an idea on how to fix the shading, please let me know!

ok so my mom told me bacon was going up to $60 no $6 a ell bee ess. i had the brallient idea of growing our own pigs so my family is going to grow our own pigs in the garden of eading

So I was testing a very early model of a Mercedes C Class in game, and for some reason, they just start rolling backwards. I haven't bothered to try and figure it out cause I had to go to bed.

There's still a lot of stuff to do, I've barely started on the interior, I need to figure out steering wheel animations, hopefully hands on support and get the model to work well with shaders/shadows. So don't expect a release to soon.

Off Topic / My day was good yet sad. I dropped a pizza.

I dropped a pizza onto the floor today. So yah, I was carrying it to our the table on the cardboard, and it slipped out of my hands. I felt so bad. Luckily for me, my siblings didn't mind too much (or at least they didn't show it).
Today was bittersweet, because my grandparents sold their house. Seems like a good thing, right? Well it is, except that we were all sad to see it go. Its the house my mom and her sister spent their entire childhood, basically. My grandparent's lived in it for 41 years. I had my first birthday parties and Christmas celebrations there. I remember my grandma used to pick up my siblings and I and we'd go over there on Wednesdays and hand out. My family always went to that house on Easter. That was the house I slept in the night my second youngest sibling was born. When my siblings and I were taking swimming lessons, we'd always go over there and have a snack afterwords. I remember the times my family would go over there to help my grandma with true years work (BTW the house is only like 10 minutes away from where we live).

Yah, I think most, if not all of us, are sad to see it go. ;-;
We went out for dinner tonight, and got Penn station. Yum.

My grandfather's surgery went without complications today, so that's good.
So, how was your day?

General Discussion / Do you know anyone IRL who plays Blockland?

I have 3 friends who I/my brother got to buy the game. One of them opened it once simply to snag the name he wanted while it was available, and the others have actually played.

Then I know XR_7. And BluetoothBoy, cauase he's my brother. So all in all, I know 5 people (hopefully soon to be 6... :P)

Suggestions & Requests / single brick vehicles?

I was wondering, how difficult would it be to turn a vehicle's DTS into a blb? is it even possible?

Another option would be to place the DTS as a static shape, but I'd rather not do that. Especially if it doesn't save with the build, idk if it would.

So anyway, would this be possible, or would I have to ask the vehicle maker for the original, non DTS file?
On a side note, IDK how to get a BLB into the game. Why isn't there a tutorial yet?

Looks a lot better than my last version, IMO. More detail, and more realistic.

So, I finally asked my brother if he could try and find this save, and he did. We started it sometime around August 2012, having had Blockland for around 5-6 months.  Probably my favorite of my old builds.

Not all of the bricks loaded properly, and the captain's cabin has missing JVS bricks.

What do you guys think? You can rate if you want, I don't expect them to be that great. XD

Off Topic / Help, I feel bad.

So yeah, I often feel bad for people when things don't go their way. Now,  this might not seem bad. And it isn't really bad. But I feel bad over the smallest,  most trivial things,  sometimes.

A couple examples: I'm playing Words with Friends with my dad,  and I've been beating him. I feel really bad about it.

Another one: the one time I reported someone on this forum, the guy got banned, and I felt really bad. And for goodness sake,  I reported him because it was obvious spam.

Also,  say there's only a small portion of leftover soup that my family really likes,  and I get it because my brother didn't come down for lunch soon enough,  I would probably feel bad. Like to the point where I might offer him the soup.

Is this normal?

If you were given the opportunity to take a glimpse at your future, knowing full well that whatever you see, be it good or bad, will stay with you, and that you have no power to change it, would you take the opportunity?

I personally wouldn't. I don't want to see if I'm far from my goals in life, and have that nagging at me up until the time I saw in my future.

Would you guys take this opportunity?
