Games / No sound in Magicka.
« on: December 10, 2013, 10:52:00 PM »
Ok, I think this goes in games. So today, I was lucky enough to be given Magicka (thanks Zealott!), and I downloaded it and installed it. So, I got a chance to play, and it's fun, but there's just one issue. No sound. So, double checked i didn't have the headphone plugged in, checked that they were my default device, made sure it wasn't muted, turned up the volume, and checked the game's settings, all to no avail. So, I decided to try that useful thing called google. So I tried to see if it could round up some answers from the vast database web thingy we call the Internet. And lo and behold, there, I found someone who was having the same issue as me. I looked at it, and... Nope. Wasn't helpful at all. So, seeing as that was the only situation remotely similar to mine, I am at a loss as to what I should do.

tl;dr I need help getting sound to work in Magicka.

« on: December 07, 2013, 01:34:30 PM »
So, do any of you guys cook food? I don't mean popping some stuff in the microwave, I mean actually cooking it from real ingredients. I do occasionally, I've cooked chili, pasta, pot lasagna (not lasagna with a drug in it), fajitas, beans and rice, quesadillas, and other yummy foods. We don't eat out often at all, so my mom has a lot of cooking to do at home. So sometimes, I'll cook dinner for her.

It snows several times in St. Louis during the winter, and I don't like it. It's cold, an I just don't find any enjoyment in going out in it, i don't like shoveling it, and it's cold. Also, did I mention its cold?

General Discussion / Potentially messing with naming system?
« on: December 01, 2013, 12:27:46 AM »
What if you bought a new key, signed in, and changed your name to Blockhead[yourID+1] before the next key was bought and used. I don't know if it's possible to do this because of how often keys are bought, but does anyone know what would happen if you could do it fast enough?

Also, I have no intention of doing this, it's just a thought I had.

Off Topic / Have you ever been camping?

I once went camping with my church summer camp in Wisconsin. We spent the first 3 days traveling down a river by day in canoes and setting up camp at night. Then we set a stationary camp site for 2 days and went kayaking down another river then. On the morning we packed up to head back to main camp (we arrived at the main camp, stayed the first night there, and then left for the river the next morning and went back for the last day) it was just poring down rain, so we got to pack up in rain, and then we cooked pancakes in the back of the bus. So yah, it was fun.

Off Topic / Microsoft is frustrating
« on: November 17, 2013, 05:50:54 PM »
So my aunt teaches at a college, so she can often get my family awesome discounts on software, so I was going to have her get the Windows 8.1 Pro for me for just $69.99. Awesome, right? Well, after she couldn't get her account verified as a student/teacher account, she called Microsoft. They got her account set up properly, blah blah blah. So she buys the download, and we then figure out that you have to have a version of Windows installed to do the upgrade, so she calls them again, returns the item, and then finds out that in order to do the download, you have to have Windows 7 installed.

Come on Microsoft, do you want people to purchase your OS? Cause if so, you might want to make it so that anybody can install it, not just people who have Windows 7.

So, I was in a Wendy's parking lot today, and three people parked in handicapped spots, each with a handicap sign in their vehicle. So, nothing unusual or wrong about this, right? Well, every single one of them got out of their cars just fine and walked up to the door. Now, there obviously are exceptions, such as when a family member who is not a driver needs a handicap spot. But if it's just you getting out of the car, go park in a regular parking spot! There may come along a person who really needs that spot, and if people who don't need it are using the spot, well, then that disabled person is going to have to park in a regular spot. This is just wrong, and I think people who don't really need the handicap thing are getting it just so they can get a good parking spot.

So yeah, discuss opinions on this or times when you have experienced people being inconsiderate to actually disabled people.

Off Topic / Windows 8 Download Question
« on: October 30, 2013, 03:56:41 PM »
So I am going to get Windows 8 really soon, and I was wondering, how exactly does downloading it off Microsoft's work? Does it download the stuff to make a USB booter?

Also, I couldn't seem to figure out how the clean install works if you're not using Windows XP, Vista, or 7. I'm currently using Linux.

Off Topic / Trade RC car for HTC One X (Opinions?).
« on: October 28, 2013, 07:06:38 PM »
I'm selling a used RC car for $100 on Craigslist. So today I get an email, asking if I want to trade it for an HTC One X in good condition. What do you guys think? It would probably be an upgrade from my iPod 4, (I wouldn't be using it as a phone) and if I decided to sell it, I could probably sell it for ~$200, right?

Games / Trading Ubisoft Game Code (Far Cry 3) for Steam Stuff.
« on: October 18, 2013, 04:50:21 PM »
When I purchased my Radeon 7770, I got one free game to pick from this on the bronze level. None of these games I am interested/would work on my computer, so I was wondering if someone would be interest in trading one of these games for Euro Truck Simulator 2? It's $25 last time I checked.

If you're interested, PM me.

EDIT: I would just buy the game, but I'm in the same boat as my brother, BluetoothBoy.

It's a Ubisoft game code for Far Cry 3 now, not just one of those games. :/
