General Discussion / How well does your computer run really large (like 254k brick) builds?

I'm just curious if using something like Sylvanor's Utopia or Seattle is ever a pheasable option or if too many people simply wouldn't be able to play.

Off Topic / Windows 10 internet issues

Alright, so I finally installed Windows 10.

First time I did it months ago, no browser worked at all, even though other applications used the internet just fine. This time, I had it delete all my apps and settings, and I installed Chrome, and Chrome works beautifully, but Edge, Store, Mail, and any internet-using preinstalled app does not work.

That is, UNLESS I go to Task Manager > Services > Open Services > Windows Firewall > Stop. Thus, turning off the firewall (only in this manner will it work) enables me to use Edge and other apps.

Also worthy to note is that Firewall believes I'm on a public network. I cannot figure out how to change it to a private network. That and Network and Sharing Center says I'm not connected to a network, even though I am.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Off Topic / Windows 10 Isn't fully functional after installation

I've been putting of getting Windows 10 for a little while, partitially because I didn't like it as much as 8.1 and partially because when I first tried it on my Surface 3 it was slow and buggy and on my desktop it had internet connection issues.

Well, for whatever reason my computer restarted and upgraded to Windows 10 today (WTH?). Whatever. I'd rather not have to go back to Windows 8.1 AGAIN, so I'd figure I'd keep it this time.

However, it's still having the same issues as before; I cannot use anything that's default (such as Edge or Mail) in terms of internet. Google Chrome doesn't work either. However, I opened Steam and it works just fine? I tried Wifi and Ethernet (the cord was just barely long enough, lol), and no avail. I cannot find anything on this anywhere.

So right now I have my Surface 3 (glad I just got the keyboard, lol), but I want my desktop back! Anyone know what I can do?

P.S. I tried pinging google.com on command prompt and it connected; I know it's connected to the internet.

Here you can see there are residential areas, shopping/industrial areas, a mixed area that could be adjusted based on what people need, and a commericial/downtown area. There's also six 64x64 lots on the mountain for the rich. These lots have extra space, fantastic views, and some will have tennis courts (not on the 64x64 part, of course).

I plan to shape the terrain a bit more so I can add more tennis courts.

Overall

I still need to add details like signs, more trees, etc. But so far, how does it look? Is this the kind of build you guys would like to see in a City RPG server?

Surprised at how well this Surface 3 runs blockland.

I was playing on Gyt's server at around 60 fps with shaders off.

Off Topic / Would using a different ROM fix hotspots?

I manually updated my LG G2 (D800) to 5.0.2. I'm on T-Mobile's network, and hotspots don't work.

Would using something looking Cyanogen Mod fix this?

Off Topic / Today was my last day at my architecture internship. :(

Well, today was my last day at my summer job/internship. In case you didn't know (I mentioned it multiple times, but never made a topic about it), I got an internship at an architecture firm- or rather, several. It was  around 12-14 different people all related to construction, architecture, and design.

Seeing as I plan to be an architect, this was a wonderful opportunity. Got valuable experience and I got to make some money. I got to do some renovation and extension designing, attend ARB (architectural review board) meetings, visit job sights (including a 5 million dollar home that is under construction), and ride in my boss's V12 Jaguar E-Type.

Well, this marks the end of my summer. I start school on Monday. What did you guys do this summer? Anyone have any interesting jobs/stories?

Off Topic / Georges might be needing a new phone

So I have a Moto G, and I finally got service for it today. My mom tried calling me, and she had a hard time hearing me. I suspect it's the mic, because this phone doesn't really work with any kind of voice commands or anything very well (even though it used to).  My warrenty is out, so it l'm going to do some testing, but I think I'm going to need a new phone soon. I really want a Moto X 2nd gen, but it is on the pricey side at $299.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to stay away from the Moto G 3rd gen, seeing as it barely has better specs than what I have now (except for the camera and an optional extra gig of RAM).

I'm looking at the Asus Zenphone 2 (2 gigs, not 4). Anyone have any experience with it?

We have soccer, football, basketball, tennis, and ping pong. We should add Baseball to the mix.

I'd imagine most of the complicated stuff with the ball and bat is basically done with the tennis mod. We just need the bat, ball, and glove.

Anyway, I'm building a carpetball table from scratch.


















Only one cut and one splinter later, here's what I have so far.



I still need to add the angular supports from the legs to the frame and the carpet. Other than that, it's done.
