It was too overwhelming for him, to go from seeing practically nothing in his life ever, to seeing everything, thats a big step and it's certainly reasonable that he killed himself over it, think of how you don't know what something is and when it's explained to you you're like "Ooooh thats what that is..." for him it would be that billions of times over and it would get crazy to handle.

The Big Mac Index reads $3.57 for the USA.  But they are one of those things that are constantly having sales.  At my local major league baseball stadium (St Louis Cardinals, you probably wouldn't know though), there is a row of seats called Big Mac Land.  If a home batter hits a home run into those stands, either everyone in the seats gets a free Big Mac or everyone in the stadium (~45,000-50,000 people average) gets one, forgot which way it goes.

i don't remember either, but I'd imagine everyone in BML gets one, not 45k people. :P

hey, just wanna point out, that statistic is pulled right the forget out of your ass. also, there's innumerous stars and places for life to form in the universe (beyond the observable reaches as well), plus any life that did form would obviously be part of the minority (since they can observe themselves).

it's not. it's not exactly accurate either though. Basically, there are 17 different amino acids to chose from. 1st gets picked, huge chance of that. Second one getting picked, 1 to 289. If you continue on, until all the proteins have been picked, I'm pretty sure it's somewhere around 10¹⁵².
