I head out to the hangar after saying goodbye to the Captain so that I can check up on my Hornet's repairs.

3692
now I can feasibly steal the cookie jar from the special forces guys two floors down

3693
to play ace combat

3694
Go back to NAUC's improvised barracks that happens to be in a hotel and censor ensuing interactions

3695
I fire my magazine's last round into the target, nothing spectacular, it was a standard chest grouping. "Yeah.. that makes sense." I holster my Five-Seven, turning back to face the Captain. "Are you doing anything after this?"

3696
At the range, which is more of a shooting gallery with live ammunition, the Captain sets down her pistol on the counter. She takes off her noise-cancelling headphones casually, as though expending 45 rounds is routine, and expending 45 rounds incredibly accurately is no big deal. She stretches a little, looking over at you. She seems to be curious about what you thought of her performance, and whether or not you'd like to have a try.

"I couldn't beat that because I spend more time calibrating my plane's fire control system than I do shooting actual rounds down range; maybe you could help me with that?" I take my sidearm out and walk to the booth, putting on a pair of headphones.

3697
"Thanks." I say before I do some high-g maneuvers in order to lose the J-20 on my tail, all the while trying to get Steele a good target or just try to fire on the bandit myself.

I've seen better descriptions

I probably won't be able to get a promotion if you keep stalling by getting shot down.

I need to change my callsign though.

the vorephilia is endless on those two accounts

considering asking for a transfer to a less-experienced squadron because mlockha wrecked the most expensive real-life fighter in the thread

(somebody removed the F-22 from the aircraft list :V)

3701
that's unfortunate

The Captain finishes her coffee, sets down mug and gestures a waitress over, paying both for herself and you (if you ordered anything) and getting up, grabbing her bag. She tilts her head at the laser tag comment, thinking. "Hrm, well I've never been to this city, and I knew there was a shooting range because of a passing comment from one of the soldiers walking around. Ah well, if there is a place I'm sure it'll show up one way or another."

"Well, let's get going." I open the door for the Captain and follow her on the street, momentarily looking at the illuminated buildings all around us before closing the door behind me.

you can skip to whatever if you want to get this conversation going faster :V
like after the love

3703
She sips her coffee, giving you a smoky gaze over the lip of her coffee mug. "Nothing really set in stone tonight, I was just going to kill time at the firing range."

"I'll head down there with you, it wouldn't hurt to kill some time there." I slip my tablet back into my flight bag, looking outside the window again to wait for her to finish her coffee.

"Eh, I wonder if they any laser tag places here."

Homura looks surprised and a little embarrassed when you say that the blue hornet was yours, and therefore you were the pilot who she was just praising so excessively moments ago. Actually it would be more accurate to say that she almost choked in the middle of sipping her coffee, looked incredibly flushed, and started coughing a lot. Awkward.
She simply quietly listens when you talk about the C-130s. She lets out a small sigh, and takes a sip of her coffee.
"I guess you already know the Hornet needs to be fixed, so I'm stuck here for the next day or so." I look back at the Captain. "Are you doing anything tonight, Captain?"

3705
The Captain looks a little confused as you drift off, and offers a small smile to reassure you. It may or may not be interpreted as "I know you're a girl son I can smell that pusillanimous individual a mile away" but it's the thought that matters. Probably. "In any case, it doesn't look like the whole squadron needed to be deployed. Your flight did well, especially what I hear about the F/A-18 pilot. Lieutenant Nagato really wanted to meet the pilot who managed to pull that off, using themselves to designate the location for an artillery strike. Twice. Hmpf. Guess I'd like to meet him as well, shows a degree of resolve I don't see often."
It doesn't seem like she's laying on flattery, considering the lack of "1-2" on your uniform, and her not being told your name at any point, she could very well be unaware. Either that or she's trying to get into your pants. Both are possible. Captain Yamashiro quietly stirs the coffee given to her by a waiter, quietly giving her thanks as she casts a glance your way.

"The blue Hornet is mine, I'll probably have to repaint it though." I sigh as I shut off my tablet. "Our C.O. is probably going to grill our flight lead for losing something that costs more money than pretty much anything else in the squadron's aircraft inventory." I look at a passing NAUC Humvee out the window.

"Basket was my callsign when I still flew C-130 transports, it's absolutely tough to see an entire transport group get wiped out.."
