Hello. If you're new here, this may be a nice way to sort of learn all of the functions and commands of the forums.
Even if you've been here a little while, something might be new to you; I guess it all depends.
When you're making a picture, you can put "width=[number] in the first [img] bracket to change it's size.Ex.
If you have this picture:
You can resize it to be smaller like this.

and it will come out like this.
When you're making URLs, you can change the name on them.Let's say I'm trying to post a URL to a page, but it's URL is pretty long. I could do this.
Instead of just posting "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikola_Tesla", I could say
Nikola Tesla
and it would come out like this:
Nikola TeslaIf you're some sort a scripter or something, or often go into the Modification Forums, this may be for you.Let's say I've made a wonderful new script that will make the game perfect in every way? How do I present that to you? Not in a quote box, no sir. That would be disgraceful to you.
No, I show you in a code box, of course! To do one is simple, just do this!
Yourcodeherewassup
It will show up like this:
datablock fxDTSBrickData ( brickSuitsData )
I'm super cool}
{
I deserve a medal}
{
Thank you Coach};
Want to hide a message? Want to just be "that guy?" This is for you!Using the [abbr=messagehere][/abbr] commands, you can make a message where, if you hover your mouse over it, it displays a text box.
Ex. Let's say I type [abbr=More suits.]Suits.[/abbr]
This will show up as
Suits and if you hover your mouse on it, it will display the message!
Want to RP something? Just saying it not enough? Here's what you do!Suppose everyone has gone all out war. You can't just yell something at everyone and tell them to do it, no.
You should do this!
[me=Yournamehere]just hit you over the head with an enlarged whale bone![/me]
And it will show up like this:
* Nonnel just hit you over the head with an enlarged whale bone!
Here's some stuff that's pretty much common knowledge, but also stuff that you shouldn't use too often. These include:FontText
ColorI like colors.
and SizeBIG TEXT
Also, never use too many emotes at a time. If you remember this, you'll get a
.
Some of the more unused things on the forums include[tt], which use can be explained
here.
[tt]Words go here[/tt]
and it shows up like this.EmailPeople probably don't show their emails all that often, but for the select few that feel the need to, here's how.
Your email here
and will show up something like
nonneldevo@gmail.com and lets you email that if you press it.
Superscript and Subscript
which are made as [sup]text[/sup] and [sub]text[/sub]
If you're like me and you're trying to explain some of these BBCodes to someone, you might want to try the [nobbc][/nobbc] commands.If you type [nobbc]I like paper.[/nobbc]
This would show up as I like paper.
Random little marks and stuff
If you type [#], you'll get this mark:
If you type [0], you'll get this mark:
If you type [O], you'll get this mark:
If you type
, you'll get this mark:
These could be good for making bulleted lists easier, instead of long lines of "

FormattingThere are many types of formats as well. If you're making a topic and want it to look all pretty, you should use
these.
You can keep everything to the right side with
Typing that will make it show up like this.
You can center your text like the other two with ! Most people use this if they're formatting their topics.
You can keep everything to the left with , although everything is already to the left already.
Using the [pre][/pre] code, you can make your text come out like this! Fun, isn't it?
Remember to close off the brackets to make sure the codes work and not look like an idiot.If you have any suggestions for anything else you feel is necessary on here, feel free to post it.
