"Heh," I say as I try to figure out how to undo combat pants.

"I was a dirtbag, got captured, traded around, and now I'm being punished for 'involvement in slavery.'" I say, my voice slowly filling with annoyance.
"Oh, I see. So, uh.. how uh.. um... I'll go to the bathroom now."

"So are you going to take a piss or what?" I ask, slowing the speed of my mopping.
"Uh.. yeah, yeah. So, uh, how'd you end up here?" I ask, while slowly walking forward.

It was pretty cheap and my parents weren't the nicest people around.
They're punishing me.
But the Regulators are the law of the Wasteland. They don't want slaves.

Why do the Regulators have slaves.
This.

Name: James Barber
Age: 16
Inventory: Pack of Cigarettes, Nuka Cola (2),
Clothes: Pre-War Combat Armor w/ Helmet
Faction (If any): Brotherhood of Steel (Initiate)
Current weapon: Hunting Rifle (87 .32 caliber rounds)
Caps: 350
Best skill: Repair
Location: The Citadel
Karma: 0

We walked Northeast. Along the way, we put some raiders in their place, not too bad. I didn't get a shot on any, though. Soon, we got to the Super Duper Mart. We decided to check inside to make sure everything was alright. The lighting inside was much brighter than I remembered last time I was here, before the regulators moved in. I separated from the rest of the group, who were chatting up some foxy regulator woman. I walked down to the bathrooms, and, to my surprise, saw someone in a collar.

"Backstory": I suppose I don't have much that's happened to me. I'm an initiate for the Brotherhood of Steel. I was born into my place. I got my first gun at eight, finished schooling at ten, and went on my first mission at thirteen. During my schooling, I learned how to repair weapons, which I do quite well, and shoot. That's about it for me.

Today, I was going on my eighth mission. They don't like me to do many missions because I'm not as good as the paladins, but as far as that goes, I need the practice. We headed out and started for Megaton.

Could I be a Generation 1 Super Mutant? Basically the smart ones.
That would make for an interesting backstory.

A Roleplay based off of Fallout 3

You live in the Capital Wasteland. Throughout the years since the great war, it has deteriorated to the point of exhaustion.
The kind, loving people that once lived there have long gone, and their offspring want nothing more than anything you have on you.
You are left to survive in the brutal wasteland that is left before you.

The year is 2295, which is 18 years after the Lone Wanderer's actions. This means that anything that happened in Fallout 3 and it's DLC has happened.

You are in the Capital Wasteland, which is Washington D.C. and part of the states of Virgina, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

This map is for looks. To see a more accurate map, go here.

Helpful Info

Factions
Although part of the Enclave still lives around the wasteland, they are also pretty much dead.

The Super Mutants still roam and conquer downtown Washington D.C., although it's getting better.

By 2304, the New California Republic has also made their way to the Capitol Wasteland, although they are few and far apart.

The people of Vault 101 are inside the vault and sealed in forever.

The Brotherhood of Steel is the largest living group in the wasteland. If you fight with them, prepare for battle.

The Brotherhood Outcasts try to keep the Brotherhood of Steel's original mission alive as they find old world technology.

The Talon Company has grown. As there has been more good in the wasteland, there's been rebels. Those who don't like the new "rules" of the wasteland. Luckily, with that, the Regulators have also grown. No longer do they operate out of a small shack. They've moved into the Super Duper Mart and are thriving.

Raiders are the most numerous groups of people in the wasteland. They steal and kill from people. They enjoy the smell of blood. They will torture their victims to the worst extent while they slowly kill them, having their guard dogs tear them limb from limb, hanging them from rafters by chains, or worse. If you see any of them, you should kill them before they kill you.

Other miscellaneous information
If you can manage,

You can only have one character, but you can make a new character if you die.

You need to update your player card every turn.

Your player sheet needs to be laid out as follows:

Name:
Age:
Inventory:
Clothes:
Faction (If any):
Current weapon:
Caps:
Best skill:
Location:
Karma:
"Backstory": Only needs to be used on first player card.

If you are in a faction, try to use that armor.

The Lone Wanderer and Moira Brown successfully publish the Wasteland Survival Guide, which becomes very widely used.

You can create your own faction if you're actually in a group of people.

If you get in a fight and you die, you're dead. No coming back to life, no matter how appealing it may seem.

You don't have infinite luck. I know you want to be a four-leaf-clover with a horseshoe necklace, but that's not how it works. Basically, if you're going to travel across the wasteland, you're going to get into a lot of fights no matter what.

You cannot fast travel. This means that you need to actually walk to get everywhere.

Megaton's bomb has been secured so that it cannot be blown up.

You can stay at Tenpenny Tower for one-thousand caps a week.

Springvale has been made into a small community. A few families live there and the guards keep them safe from raiders.

If you have bad karma and you want to be a raider, go ahead. Note that it will be hard to stop unless you die.

Don't give yourself a fat man and mini-nukes. More specifically, no overpowered weapons.

You're not going to bomb the Capitol Wasteland.

Regarding Karma

Please note that your karma should go down and up depending on what you do.

In 2298, the Brotherhood of Steel found an old RobCo factory, and they now hand out PipBoy 3000s to good people and Brotherhood of Steel members at the Jefferson Memorial. Note that your karma needs to be above 250 for you to be able to get one. (Also note that karma tops off at 1000 for both "Very Good" and "Very Evil".)
Once you have your PipBoy 3000, you cannot lose it.

Your karma must start at 0 unless you have a backstory that says otherwise. Backstory karma cannot go past 100 either way.

Donating money to a church is one karma per cap.

Giving clean water to beggars adds fifty karma.

Stealing will cost you ten karma.

And, of course, enjoy!
