So much this. Its unbelievably ridiculous. Only alternative possibilities are:  he was teasing you, you misunderstood what he said, or you are lying to pass the blame onto an authority figure.

Re:icons, I don't like any icons on my desktop, I usually just hide it.

Gives me more of an incentive to be more organized.

I find it so gross how people have application shortcuts on their desktop. Use the taskbar damn it lol.

Its generally believed by some online technology authorities that SSDs aren't more reliable than hard drives, and in some cases some speculate they may be even more likely to fail.

At this stage the jury is still out as to the reliability after the affects of aging to an SSD and how the failure rate might be, because we are still early in. Flash isn't particularly reliable, and although your physical data might be stored in a similar fashion to an HDD the technologies behind it seem flimsy to me.

Some believe SSDs are more likely to last longer due to having no moving parts and producing less heat. In theory, they may have life spans several times longer than a hard drive. But nobody knows for sure yet, and I don't want to be the person spending lots of money to be part of the experiment.

Mmm, I know they can be really good for faster response time when using software but I'm still skeptical about their reliability and price. For me, this is a technology worth waiting for until it evens out and becomes more standardized.

Thats exactly the simple interpretation you should have avoided.

Being criticized or praised by people with no credibility is a waste of time. Hope you didn't want on too many eggshells for that. I certainly don't recommend it.

Though with RAID you increase your failure rate

Thats just what an SSD needs.  

Anything over 1TB of SSD space used for more than Windows and programs = failjob.

Its been discontinued according to that page, it has meh RPM, kinda stuffty cache, the interface speed isn't great, and I personally find 3.5" a little weird.
