This is where you are completely wrong.
Young Link, was born in the Kokiri village, after his mother died after child birth. He was soon taken in by the villagers, but was shunned because he didn't have a fairy. He also aged, which frightened the villagers. Young Link is approximately 9 years old, and he is in 3 games, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Toon Link on the other hand, was born on Outset island, and his Grandmother, and little sis Aryll are his only close relatives. Find out later that he is THE ANCESTOR of Young Link, because of the clothes he is given by his grandmother. Notice that the belt buckle resembles the wind medallion from Link to the Past. That was not in Ocarina or Majora. He is in a lot of games, such as Minish Cap, Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures, Phantom Hourglass, and SSBB. His appearances are more common because the consoles he appears on are too low brow to support a heavily detailed character.
This is all from the top of my head. Those are the differences. So shove that in your pipe and smoke it.
