that gpu is kinda old. i wouldn't be surprised if your motherboard bottlenecked, if it's as old as the card

well if the motherboard has an AM3+ socket with a fx8350, i doubt it'll bottleneck
in this case the biggest problem would be the power supply and case size

zacks, make sure you have more than a 500w power supply as a 7970 probably draws power equivalent to a ocean liner
and that card is huge, it might not even fit

first of all, there is not a single existing video card on the general market that will bottleneck a 8350, lol. maybe in like 4 or 5 years but definitely not now
and for minecraft, my integrated Intel HD is able to run that, lol. with a gpu of such high price youll be able to run minecraft max settings with the Shaders mod at a few hundred fps

anyways, 400 will get you some nice cards. i would recommend either an NVIDIA GTX770, which is priced at around $400, or an AMD 7970, which is around $310-$400

ramps do not do the drones justice. I would use vertical plates and small ramps to make better curves.

how exactly would i use vertical plates for curves? im not saying its not possible i just want to see how its done; its the first time im hearing about the plate pack being used in curves

I'm not talking 2x the size, but maybe 20% bigger overall, because when Jack stands next to one, it's almost 2x taller than he is.
