Off Topic / So, My PayPal account was limited.

Today, I bought a prepaid visa debit card and added it to my PayPal account. About 10 minutes later, it said my account was limited for "suspicious activity on credit card," which is bullstuff.
I contacted support over the phone, and I told her what's going on. She told me to provide Photo ID. Me being 14 and all, I don't have and ID.
So, basically, I just sat on hold for 45 minutes to get told this "Wait until you're 18 and then we can remove the limitation."
YEAH. I'M GOING TO WAIT FOUR YEARS FOR THAT TO HAPPEN.
I had to literally hold myself back from saying "You're a stupid loving bitch that's four years from now god damnit"
I was also told that now I can't even use this loving visa card with PayPal due to the fact that it's added only to a limited account.
God DAMNIT. I'm really pissed off right now. The only good thing about this is I was going to buy a $100 visa prepaid debit card later, and if I had added that today I would have had $100 down the drain instead of $25.
And yes, I do realize that you have to be 18 to open an account, don't give me that stuff. I opened this so I could buy things with PayPal. Doesn't everyone do that?

Games / Adventure-Like Garry's Mod maps?

I feel like playing with some friends on Garry's Mod and we don't want to build. We want kind of like an adventure map, such as GhostHunt2, but that one is out of the question because they don't meet the game requirements on it. They only have EP1.
If you'd like, recommend either map, or a mod for HL2 or a map for HL2 that's adventure style and quite fun.
Don't recommend Synergy HL2 Co-op, I don't want to play the HL2 campaign.

So. I'm a bit confused here.
I got the DLC. Traveled to Zion, killed a bunch of natives, grabbed the map, and left.
...What did I do wrong? I didn't talk to anyone after I entered and the caravan I was with was killed.
When I got to the Northern Passage I killed some Walking Cloud person and it said I failed a quest, so I knew I did something wrong. But she attacked me first :(
I do believe I have a save before I went in there. Should I reload that save and go back and do something different? I passed through it in about 30 minutes or so just because of the fact I had to walk all that way.
Any ideas? People who've played the DLC before?

  • Theme: Video games, Movie, Specific character, what video game/movie, etc.

Off Topic / Static from headset -- Even though it's brand new?

Basically, when I'm listening to most music or videos and such, I get various static, but I've just now sort of noticed what's triggering it.
Let's say I'm listening to a song, and I'm on a webpage, and I click on the scrollbar and move my mouse down to scroll down, and that's what triggers the static. It seems to happen automatically with anything inside of Firefox, videos, flash games, etc. These are brand new headphones. It was doing this with my old ones too.
Is it my soundcard? I think mine's integrated. I also I have a really old computer, that could be contributing I think.
Anyone have any ideas?

My current one is overall just cheap and is starting to get static :(
I want a new headset, and none of those $150 headsets, I'm almost broke but I've got some money lying around that I can spend on a new headset. No more than $50.
I want one with a nice quality microphone and nice sound. :o

As a lot of us know, Minecraft is a hot thing right now, and we've all probably either groaned at another trailer for Fortresscraft, or been lucky to first run into a good kind of imitation like Ace of Spades.

This however is an imitation I can safely say has got the idea of inspiration right.

Right now there's not much aside some trailers and LP vids, but apparently there's lots more to come (reddit had about 20 LP vids at one point, apparently they're already all uploaded and they're just swapping them from private to Public as they go, currently at number 5).

A list of features I've found on Facepunch:

There are many different ways to attract people to move into your town. They will of course need a home to live in.
Two people will not live in the same home. Also, if their home is destroyed, they will look for a new place to live.
In order for a room to be considered a home, it needs to have a chair, door, table, and light source. The house should have walls as well!
If you want a merchant to move in, you will need to gather plenty of money. 50 silver coins should do the trick!
For a nurse to move in, you will need to increase your maximum life.
If you had a gun, I bet an arms dealer might show up to sell you some ammo.
You should prove yourself by defeating a strong monster. That will get the attention of a dryad.
You can make a grappling hook from a hook and 3 chains. They can be made from iron bars. Skeletons found deep underground usually carry hooks.

My budget is roughly ~$400. Keep it reasonably priced and maybe try and keep it in the $300-ish area. I rarely gain any money when it's not a holiday so I'm trying to keep it in my price range. I need help finding compatible and cost effective parts, at the moment I do not have nearly enough money to order all the parts, but I've got $130 here that I can spend on it.
Although I do not need a graphics card seeing as I will swap out the one in my current rig into my new one, any suggestions for a new GFX card for future purchases are also welcome. My current graphics card.

It is my birthday. I am now 14.
Tomorrow I'm going to go bowling with some friends and then play some vidya games or something, I'm not sure. We're definitely going bowling though.
I got this really nice mattress like thing that goes on top of my bed and it feels like I'm sleeping on a big pillow, it is soo nice. c:

That video was uploaded at the beginning of 2009. Then it get's claimed by "Coolbuddy.com" and it's completely deleted.
At this point, I've got no loving idea what I can upload and what I can't upload at risk of getting my Youtube account deleted. This is loving ridiculous.
Can I do anything to stop my account from being deleted if I do uploaded "copyrighted" material?

If you've been to my website, (if you haven't click here) you might have noticed that it's lacking quite a few clips to play. In total, there's three clips there. It randomly picks between them. So, as a result, I've chosen to ask you, the community, for clips to play on my website!
Please, please read all of these rules before uploading a clip!
Rules:
  • Please, don't use a terrible file hosting service. No RapidShare, anything like that. Filesmelt and Mediafire are both solid hosting websites.
  • No long clips. No, you can't give me a 12 minute long clip. Or 5 minutes. I'd say the max length is going to be a minute to two minutes. I might accept longer ones.
  • Edit your video! Don't send me an entire video to be converted. Please trim the video to the part which you want, else it shall be ignored.
  • Keep the file size to a minimum, but it can be any file type. Avi, mpeg, wmv, etc. I can convert them into flvs to play on the website.
  • No idiotic, pointless, or stupid clips. If you're unsure if your clip fits into those three categories, post what it is. Although, I'm the one who has the say in this so don't necessarily always listen to others telling you if it's alright to upload.
  • No, it does not have to be about Adventure Time. It can be anything.
  • Search through the topic and see if your clip has already been posted.
  • No clips just about you! Please! As in, I don't want your life story in video format for others to watch! That's boring. Also, no boring clips. Thanks.
  • I have the ability to either use your clip or to not use it, so if your clip doesn't end up being uploaded, please don't whine, or complain.
  • DownloadHelper is a wonderful add-on for Firefox which allows you to download any video you would like off of Youtube, or any other video-hosting website. Vimeo, etc.
  • No inappropriate clips. If you do upload something that breaks the rules of these forums, I obviously won't use it.
That's it. Include the link to the file in your post, and maybe give a short description of what it is and why you want it on the website, but that isn't required.
If this topic doesn't get enough submissions, I'll probably just lock it or something. If I get a lot of requests for a lot of videos at once, I may also lock it to prevent more submissions so I can convert and apply the changes to the website to allow it to be played. Although, I don't expect this topic to get too many posts.
