IF there is no depot, they will not go to it if you build one.



Just keep calm, and when they leave, build a depot, then wait another year for them to come back.

You completely misunderstood what I meant. Let's say I have a depot, and then block it off with a wall or flood gates.
When the caravan comes, the floodgates are not open, then I open them later AFTER the caravan arrives.
Will it enter the depot still?

When caravans don't get immediate access to the trade depot, will they never go to it or can I then give them access to it after they've arrived and have them come to it?

My old fort crashed while saving (forget YOU WINDOWS 7, YEAH, IT'S PROBABLY CAUSING IT TO CRASH) and it corrupted the save file or some stuff.
I've generated a new world because for some weird ass reason I cant reused world 3 (my really large world that took atleast 2 and a half hours to generate) and this world IS LOADED WITH hematite, limonite, and magnetite. I've hit coal too, and plenty of gems.
I've already also hit a metric asston of native gold. I've got slate and gabbro on this level so I'm bound to hit platinum soon while mining, and I plan on digging down and getting into the magma seas to immediately so I can begind making iron and gold for trading/weapons.
Also unlike my older save, I've actually hit the underground caverns this time so I'll have to make another central staircase to go around it down to the magma seas.

Yeah well lots of the pit stuff has changed in the new version. I was in a chat room just after it was released and 30 minutes in somebody had already hit hfs, they were trying to dig out big adamantine pillars that were in a sea of magma.

Whats hfs? :o

Dropshock, forget your platinum, i have adamantine and slade, but the only way to use slade is to glitch the game, because it's the strongest metal, but it is supposed to be unmineable, so adamantine is the strongest metal in the game, also the most valuble.


I just hope i dont dig into the demon pit....

so, the first merchants come for the year, and im looking around seeing what I can trade.
I look through rocks to see if I have some kind of valuable stuff
I see a gold nugget, I'm like, "forget yes :D" and look through some more. Found more gold nuggets.
I quickly see "plat..." when skipping through some pages. I froze, and went back.
A platinum nugget.
HOW DO I FIND OUT WHERE I MINED THIS? I NEED TO KNOW.

Destiny, you dont understand.
You're not going to find a mine. People spent weeks finding their current mines, and that's because of the rarity of them.
The only place you have a small chance of finding a mine is the supergrid that expanded to the west I think it was, but even then they're probably all taken and you're really loving far away from it.
