Games / Re: Minecraft; Version 1.3.2 released, mainly bugfixes!

But how would it look if it had a lower resolution, like a phone. Would it look like stuff from a distance?
I don't think you really understand what we're getting at here.
PPI is pixels per inch. It is directly proportionate to the size of the screen and the display resolution. A display device has a limited number of pixels it can display, and a limited space over which to display them.
Let's say you have a 640x960 resolution on a screen with a diagonal screen size of 3.54 inches.
To fit that resolution on that size of a screen, you will have to have a pixel density of 326 pixels per inch.
That means that for every inch, in both the horizontal and vertical directions, there will be 326 pixels in every inch of the screen.

It is not possible to say, increase the PPI of a screen without modifying the resolution or screen size, because the PPI is found by using both of those factors.
If you took a 52" TV and lowered it's 1080p resolution to like you said, the resolution of a phone, it would decrease the PPI to around 22 if I'm doing the math correctly. This would look like utter crap up close, but far away it would probably look okay. But doing something like that would be completely absurd and pointless, because it's a TV and is meant to be used as such.
Hopefully I explain it better this time, it can get pretty complicated.

my iphone has better resolution than my wall mounted television. Smaller screens can/have to have higher resolution than larger ones because they don't cost as much as larger screens due to size and they are held closer to your face. A wall mount with loving retina display is about as useful as super mario bros in HD.
His TV has a 1080p resolution. However, stretched out on a 52" surface means lower pixel density, meaning less pixels per inch. His 52" TV probably has around 40 to 45 PPI (Pixels Per Inch). Up close, it will look "blurry" or obscured due to the low pixel density.
Your iPhone has a resolution of 640×960, but, has 326 PPI. Obviously, such a large pixel density on a smaller screen will look better up close than a lower pixel density TV screen. But that doesn't mean you have a better resolution, it just means those two screens have different uses.

Already sorted out:

Solid has his account back. But watch out for phishing scams in general, and always check the URL before doing anything on a website.

The best way to play is play like you're playing regular ArmA, and know that you'll die in most PVP encounters so your best chance of survival is to shoot them as much as possible.
I think I just care so much about not dying that I get super stressed. I played Haven and Hearth for well over a year and a half (if I recall correctly), which is a game that also has perma-death and anyone can pretty much murder you. While playing Haven and Hearth, I had the same longing for not dying. Except not so extreme, really.
I think it's because in DayZ anyone can kill you, while in Haven and Hearth only well established plays have a chance of killing you. While exploring the NW airfields I only felt safe doing it on a server with two other people on the server. I only stay on low-pop servers and have actually disconnected a few times when I heard gunshots in the area.
I really need to take the game less seriously and loosen up. I just can't for some reason, however. The fear of loosing all of my gear and having all of that wasted playtime because of some goon who sniped me in the back is too great.
However, I still play it. If I die, the cycle will just repeat itself. Heh.
Sorry for the wall of text.

Been playing this game quite a lot recently. After dying lots, my team of me and my buddy are pretty well armed at this point. We haven't found any vehicles yet. Disappointing, to say the least.
I love the feeling and atmosphere in this game, but it just stresses me out so much. Does it do this to anyone else?
I have honestly never had a game ever get my heart beating this fast when I realize someone is around me and could easily put a bullet in my back if they catch me off-guard. It's crazy.

Updated the OP for information about 1.2.5. Thank you for PMing me (You know who you are) instead of posting in the thread. Like I said before, if you would like to get in contact with me, send me a PM. I get emails when I get PMs so I can easily see when you would like me to change something about the thread.

Gmod will die when Source Film maker comes out lol.
The film-making community of Garry's Mod certainly might decline, but there is always the rest of the community. People who play for building contraptions, using Wiremod, and enjoy role playing.

maybe he just wanted you to make an ass of yourself with this topic
Didn't even tell him to make the topic. Just told him to watch is attitude and how he shouldn't mindlessly argue with people.
