He told me he wanted to get himself banned by trolling or something, i honestly did not care but the way he did it was so pathetic that i did not even know these two were the same guy so i thought i'd just tell you guys this.

After telling me he'd trolled I told him that was a dumb way to get yourself banned and proceeded to block and unfriend him (idk why he was in my friend list to begin with)

I mean seriously. If you have nothing to contribute to a discussion, don't quote something someone else said and then run away. Just don't post. You will look less like you have no imagination and you will clutter less topics.

However I don't think something like this deserves a ban. Perhaps make a page open when someone only has a quote in their post, like how that page used to open when you posted roblox redirect links for tix.

The topdown player except the camera doesn't rotate when you rotate. Think of zelda.

Having this as an event is suitable for my purpose, if that makes it easier.

Okay to explain further:

What I want is a playertype or an event that will give me a topdown camera, that doesn't rotate when the player rotates.

Notice how the player's rotation is independent to the camera? Something like this would be cool, but a better camera angle might be this:

Notice how it's still somewhat a topdown view, but you can see the side of your player? That would be cool too.

An addon that could help you create this is the 2d camera event. If you decide to use this it would be cool if you were to make the camera orientation editable, like have north west east south options and perhaps a checkbox to choose which of the above camera angles you want. Though this customization is not necessary. Please make this.

This does exactly that. It doesn't include an up direction, but you achieve it by setting the degrees to 90, I believe.

Edit: also, reread your last post on having it at an angle. You can achieve any angle with the mod. Have fun!

General Discussion / small rant about "invisible colors" in colorsets

they're pointless. you could just set the rendering off. making the color fully transparent will still be visible with shaders. i cringe when i see a fully loaded colorset with an invisible color because that's a spot they could have used for a much more useful color

why don't we solve this problem by making a tool, called the InvisCan. when sprayed it will turn the rendering off of a brick, like what was intended. that way, colorsets don't need to waste a space on ignorant people and we could have another very useful tool in our disposal

Also a less needed but welcome ability would be to have multiple water layers, to make it look like there are clouds above those buildings but still below you.

Story
The discovery of habitable planets at nearby stars has interested scientists for decades, though only recently has the technology been invented to get things there. Robots, controlled from a staging post in orbit of Mars, have been landed on these worlds. They sent back images of worlds flowing with life much similar to life on Earth. Years later, a generational ship was developed that could travel near light speeds. Almost 40 million people were boarded onto the ship.

The journey will take 40 years to complete, and 40 more years to return to earth. The first destination is a relatively small planet, very close to its dim star. The second destination is a large planet, quite far away from its star. The third and final destination is a moon orbiting a gas giant around a very bright star. Each planet will have 20 million people dropped off, unless population is lower than expected. Your people and your future children are assigned to the second destination planet, for which everyone has agreed to call Terra Nova.

25 years after stepping into the ship, you are now finally stepping off on to a whole new world. Let's not screw this up.

Making a faction
I don't want to limit you guys on what you need to have, so I'll only state the basics.
What you absolutely should have on your faction post is:
Faction Name, Type*, System%
Map location if applicable
Cultural Origin^
Faction Color
Population

Though if you don't, but your faction post has a reason for not having it, it may still be accepted.

* = You're not limited to being a nation. You can be nomadic, or just a little club, or whatever.
% = The systems your faction runs on, if any.
^ = Is your faction inspired by a country or a group?


Guidelines
Forum rules still apply.
Your faction may gradually change, but not too fast.
Try to be somewhat realistic.
Don't invent game changing tech, that's my job.
When in a war, you must wait for your opponent to respond before commencing your next attack.
You can only control your own faction.
No cheating.
Use common sense.
Your owned territory must be realistic in proportion to your population/needs.
Do not place your new nations right next to an existing nation. Unless there is barely any land left.
No warring with a nation that is 5 years or less old.
Just because something is not here, it doesn't mean you can/can't do it. If you're really worried, ask me.

Technology
Subspace is a very unstable universe that bends space when anything is inside it. Only radiation exists here, and because of the space bending, it can be used for FTL communication. Thus, FTL communication exists. Subspace beams can travel 10,000 times faster than light, and the Subnet is gradually replacing the Internet. You need a lot of power to puncture into subspace but maintaining the portal is very easy once it opens.
Space travel is possible. Casual speeds tend to be 1/10 the speed of light, with light speeds only being for the bulky interstellar ships, which is hard to do. Space colonies are also a thing.

We are only slightly more advanced than modern (2014) times. The only great advancements in history was space colonies and subspace. Please keep this in mind.

Near light speed space travel (note: the generational ship on the story was just a spur of the moment. interstellar travel is not going to become normal in the near future)
Stem cell usage
Anything else slightly more advanced than what we have in the modern (2014) times, if you're worried please tell me your idea.
Remember, I'm going to be the one to introduce game changing tech. Don't do it yourself unless you have direct permission from me.

Temporary Limitations
The remaining times can change without notice.

Your nation cannot start with more than 50 million population. 7 years
No interstellar manned space travel or colonies for the time being. ??? years

Everything is still subject to change, right now I'm seeing if this works as intended.

General Discussion / Blockland 2 - A thought I had

I know people tend to joke around about a "Blockland 2: The Search For More Money" but what if a sequel actually happened? Badspot really doesn't like dealing with this game according to what I have seen, probably because it's all forgeted, so I would not be surprised if sequel or another blockland happened, perhaps on a more advanced engine with more features. It might split the community up, but if it's for a better future I would be okay with that. Think of The Binding of Issac: Rebirth, Black Mesa, or even Blockland's transition from free to retail.

Add-Ons / ModTer Updated

Here is my attempt to improve on mod ter. No hard feelings with ghost.

Changes:
Bricks are now all in a new "ModTer" section in the brick selector. The baseplates section is no longer cluttered.
The 4x mod ter bricks now have prints in correct proportions with the larger bricks (it will not show the full print, so letters WILL NOT work)
The only change to the prints was the ramp print. It is now cropped smaller, so now you can better see the ramp texture.
