General Discussion / Re: Scenery's BATTLEMIX [SERVER OPEN]
« on: September 06, 2016, 11:34:00 PM »
Just want to say that this is one of the best and most fun servers I've played on blockland, and I'm glad it's still being hosted to this day. Great job to you and anyone else that helped make this server happen.

Suggestions & Requests / Expanded print gui
« on: September 06, 2016, 11:20:56 PM »
Mr.Noßody suggested that it's time for a new print gui, and I agree, so I whipped up a concept image and thought up some ideas.

The current one works, but it's too restricting and gets very disorganised with a lot of prints.

Here's what I came up with (this is an edited image and is being used to show my thoughts visually, i don't know how to make functional guis)

Some ideas for what a new print gui could do:
- Allow a print of any size to be put on any print brick, I recall this being possible and an older add-on doing this.
- Separate the different print sizes into tabs, being more organised. Should add arrows to the gui like the tab shifting brick selector addon.
- Categorise them by the add-on.zip they're in, appearing more like the brick gui.
- Allow the user to resize the window by dragging the corner/edges, or at least make the window bigger.

This should give players a lot more power while being way more organised than the default gui.

Would be amazing if this were made.

Gallery / piber20's ROBLOX Classic Pack
« on: September 06, 2016, 10:35:46 PM »
Some of these may have been made by other people already, but I made my own versions anyway.

This pack contains some classic maps from ROBLOX recreated for Blockland. They were all made using default bricks. I plan to add more to this pack in the future.

I was thinking to myself "What if these were default saves for Blockland?" so I tried to replicate that feeling as best as I could.

These are not meant to be perfect recreations, some brick sizes may be a little off and some of the placements may be a little off, but it should be close enough to get the same feeling as they would on ROBLOX.

A few notes regarding the heights:
- The Heights is a little off due to default blockland not having a lot of different types of swords, and I was also thinking of a DM server when I was building it, so some weapons are scattered about. If you want to make a DM using it, start the players with a sword and nothing else. A couple item placements were also replaced with chests.
- The launch/teleport pads may also not be accurate, but it plays well.

Faces, Decals, Prints / Re: Road Prints
« on: September 06, 2016, 10:21:26 PM »
Alright there's a non-baseplate version.

Hm, perhaps it time for a client sided re-haul on the print tab GUI.
I'd love to see that.

And good prints btw.
That would be awesome af. And thanks. Recommendation to anyone who would make that: allow players to place any print on any print brick, but put the print types/prefixes in different tabs. (like how the letters are in a different tab than the other prints)

Is there a legitimate reason for it?
There is a ton of stuff here, and the default gui for prints don't show a lot or has any category/sorting system. I'll make a separate pack with default print prefixes just so people don't have to go through the trouble.

Your custom baseplate print bricks are redundant. Larger prints under the 2x2f size are supported on any brick dedicated to a 2x2f print brick.

Prints are rescaled either way. A 10k by 10k print could fit on any brick with a 2x2f print size and still be relatively lossless.

Having alternative size parameters just segments the print list.
It's purely to be more organised. If you really dislike it, just rename all the prefixes to 2x2f, 1x2f, and 1x1f.

Gallery / Re: Pirate World Restored (and some other v20 saves)
« on: September 06, 2016, 10:07:24 PM »
does it still have that event that causes the bridge to collapse?
Yes

The only stuff i remember that couldn't make the transition well was the ceiling hanging shelf areas. They've been translated into higher elevations of the island (you can see a tiny cave area at the top representing the ceiling light)

Also i forgot to mention - the pirate ship got a few touchups, specifically the lower room area. It has better stairs and a better floor.

Gallery / Pirate World Remastered (and some other v20 saves)
« on: September 06, 2016, 09:53:57 PM »

Back in v20 there was this save for the kitchen called Pirate World. I thought it was pretty cool but the entire build didn't translate well to v21, the only part that made the transition was the pirate ship. I couldn't stand for that though, so I created a completely new island terrain and placed the build in it. Some changes had to be made for this to work, but I think this is a great build. The island terrain somewhat respects the kitchen map, you can see that tiny waterfall being the little gap between the counter and the oven. Many of the kitchen's secret passageways were translated into caves within the island.

I feel that this is what a little kid would have imagined the build looking like in their mind, had they built it themselves in their kitchen. It's nice.

You can download this too. As a bonus the .zip file contains v20 saves ported over to v21 and tweaked a bit. There's also a Beta City save that contains some stuff from the v20 version lowered down to the ground.

A few notes regarding the pirate world:
- Some bricks are floating. I tried making them not float but it was taking a lot of time trying to find which ones were actually floating.

Faces, Decals, Prints / More Default Prints
« on: September 06, 2016, 09:29:45 PM »
Originally released on RTB (and as separate files due to RTB itself) and named "Default", potentially confusing people as to which prints are default or extra prints added by me. This problem is now somewhat remedied as all the files are now named MoreDefault. Here I present you the entire pack in one file, and I've touched up a few more things as well. Default style prints made for my L Shaped Bricks are also included here.

With this, all default print bricks now have prints ready for you to use that fit alongside the default prints.

Author: piber20
Nearly every single print in this pack is an edit of the default prints, done with the goal of making most prints work for other print sizes. The creator of the game, Badspot, probably made these. They may have also been free resources, like most of the other files in the game.

Add-Ons / Re: piber20's Stack o' Bricks
« on: September 06, 2016, 09:20:30 PM »
Im simply using it as another place to host my add-ons, I don't want to force people to go to one place to download my stuff. Also, BLG somewhat spooks me in that it kinda takes over add-ons. I was putting my stuff there for a little while and it kept adding files to my add-ons, and I'm worried that it would forcefully update non-BLG add-ons to the BLG versions. The support_updater already does that to stuff like t+t melee and unedited RTB versions. I don't want BLG people to be completely left out though, but I'll have to find some way to do this right that would work for me and my add-ons.

Nearly every single print in the pack. The second image is using version 2 of my baseplate prints which made the lines less noticable.

This version allows you to put these on bricks that want a 2x2f, 1x2f, and 1x1f print size. Useful if you want to make mini cities or absolutely refuse to use my baseplate bricks. I wont hold it against you.

These are all separate add-ons, I felt that they all should go in the same topic as they're all bricks and I have quite a few of them.

1x1F Round Print Brick v3
This add-on dates all the way back to 2011, on RTB. It was "suggested" even earlier in 2009. If I recall correctly, I was still known as ChristopherP. According to the RTB archives I found, the last version was version two, last updated in 2013. After three years, I now present to you the third version of this very simple add-on. All I did was polish it a bit, and remade the icon. Enjoy.

1x1 Rounds Full v2
Introduces 'full' versions of 3 1x1 rounds which have smooth sides and no indents - similar to the 2x2 rounds.

Baseplate Print Bricks v2
Baseplate print bricks probably already exist, but I decided to make my own anyway. Each baseplate has their own print type, so you're going to want to make/find prints prefixed with 32x32f, 16x32f, and 16x16f.

At the moment they do not have any icons. They work pretty much flawlessly though.

L Shaped Bricks v7
First made in 2010 and released on RTB, latest version was released in 2011 at v4. Here's v5, with more polish and remade icons.

Contains 5 bricks based off of the 2x2 Corner brick that was introduced in v15(?). A plate version, tall versions, and print versions. The print bricks have their own print type, so you're going to want to make/find prints prefixed with 2x2L and 2x2fL.

King Tinks fixed the side textures of the taller bricks years ago. Don't know if he still exists under that name.

Add-Ons / Re: Crouch Jumping Script v6
« on: September 06, 2016, 04:29:31 AM »
Alright I've updated the script to version 6. I did more adjustments to hopefully stop people from crouching through ceilings. I've also added two new prefs.

Set $Pref::Server::CrouchJump::BypassHeightMax to true to bypass the normal maximum/minimum. You're still limited from -2000000000 to 2000000000 even with this set to true, but I don't think that's a problem. You will obviously go through bricks/the ground if you set it to crazy high/low numbers.

Change $Pref::Server::CrouchJump::TickLength to make the script check if players are in the air less/more often. Default is 20. 1 is the most accurate but that might affect server performance a lot more, not too sure.
Note: It checks for each player, but only after they have done a successful crouch jump, it stops checking if it detects they have landed.

Server sided?
Yes. I'm pretty sure it's impossible do this client sidedly, don't think you can even do that with those cheat dlls or whatever.

Should I rename the file to Server_CrouchJump? Might be less confusing.

EDIT: The default tick speed of 20 might harm your servers' performance if you have more than a handful of players. I recommend 100, as that used to be the default and it was accurate enough to work. It usually fails to detect if a player has landed if they hold down the jump key and just move around, however.

Add-Ons / Re: Crouch Jumping Script
« on: September 06, 2016, 12:58:24 AM »
After a little testing I can tell you with certainty that you can clip through at least 1-plate ceilings with this. It's a little difficult, but not unreasonable.
There's also the current problem where you cant crouch jump too well around ramps/cornerbricks/modter bricks that are not cuboid(these probably cant be fixed). It's far from perfect at the moment. For the clipping though, I have been hosting deathmatches with this script, it hasnt been very popular but i haven't seen people complain about being stuck yet. It's likely a very rare occurance at the moment and I should do more investigation
