Laptops.
Desktop i7 processors.
Anyone else seeing something wrong with the power consumption?
Battery LifeGaming laptops are a joke...
The X7200’s battery, while rather powerful, only sustained the X7200 for 29 minutes idling; it functions more like a UPS (uninterruptable power supply) rather than a battery. I am not surprised. Speaking of power, it is worth mentioning that the X7200’s massive power brick is rated for an astounding 300W and weighs about three pounds by itself; for comparison, the power supplies that come with most notebooks are rated for 65-90W. Using my Kill-A-Watt I saw the X7200 pull 296W under full load; at idle it consumes between 120 – 150W. A typical notebook consumes about 20-30W of power at idle.
No it's not.I've been using BootCamp for windows only games for like a year now and it works fine.
No no no no no it's not.
I have helped friends install Windows on their Macs. It makes it laggy as forget, and there are things that don't work correctly.
are you kidding me? bit.trip is an awesome game.Well the music is cool but it's too hard for me even on easy. Everything happens too fast D:
Spoilers: You see where it says "ZERO" on the site? That's where these numbers are supposed to go. Simple enough to find the links, just replaced "zero" in the name with real numbers.I think when it will come out it will show the number of people playing it.
-snip-
As silly as it sounds, it's something that should be considered.
buying a mac to run windows so it can run games?
The internet's critics don't know anything, Tom.For the most part the gaming community isn't too satisfied with iBuyPower:
WIMP.com had a very low rating on a review site, for not being child-friendly.
One of WIMP's goals is to be appropriate for all ages.
Don't even try to pull this stuff. You have to pay another 200 dollars to buy the Windows OS for one, and for another loving thing, it's laggy as stuff.I can run games at decent settings fine on BootCamp.
Don't
even
try.
Well how long is a while? It wont be top of the line in 2 years.Actual hardware's power plays a significant role in gaming. The funny thing is for the same price as the base Alienware model one could get a MacPook Pro with a faster proser than even available for the Alienware, with the same amount of memory. The only downside would be that the equivalently priced model has integrated graphics, but I doubt a lower-end mobile card could top that by very much.
HERE LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT YOU CAN'T PLAY ON A MACIt's called BootCamp. You can literally do anything you can do on Windows on Mac now.
