Well the first few paragraphs do.

I was too lazy to read the whole thing.

I doubt the people who did it actually care about "knowledge and intelligence".

$18 Dollars... really?
This is unfinished and simply moving around is really glitchy.

@People who disagree with me: I'm not saying that the graphics have to be shiny with HDR and everything, I'm just saying they have to be good enough to believe them and to be immersed by them. Exactly how good that is probably depends on your imagination.

snip'd most of the statment to save space, so your opinion is only 'realistic games' are good?
In order to have fun gaming you have to "forget about reality" and become focused into the game. I'm not saying it has to be realistic, I am saying that the graphics have to be believable so you are absorbed into the game.

if so then why does he say 8bit graphics and 3d together don't look good "AT ALL"
If I wanted my games to look like 800x600 resolution I would play them in 800x600.

What the hell? Why don't you play it first before you start drawing conclusions about what it is like?
Have you every played Black OPs?

Dwarf Fortress looks like a board game because:
It is tile based.
I'm guess lots of things are based on random "dice roles".

only problem minecraft is not 8bit it's 16bit bro
Minecraft artwork is technically 32 bit.

Dwarf Fortress is more like a computerized board game. It's like saying you are a real gamer because you play video poker.

I'm so tired of people saying "Gameplay over Graphics". YOU NEED TO HAVE BOTH OF THEM FOR A FUN GAME. THEY ARE BOTH EQUALITY IMPORTANT. Gameplay is simply what makes it fun, but having good enough graphics to fit with the style of gameplay. The more real the graphics are, the more you forget about reality.

It's like seasoning food. You need to have both the seasoning and the food itself for it to taste good., but of course everyone has slightly different taste.

ALSO... 8-BIT AND 3D DOSE NOT LOOK GOOD... AT ALL. I don't blame indie developers for using it if they could not make better art, but saying it's "stylized" does not always excuse the fact that it looks like crap. I hope Notch can get Minecraft to look a little better with his new team.

It would be cool if it were Valve vs. Mojang.
