General Discussion / Re: Remotely accessing Blockland Server
« on: March 27, 2010, 11:54:18 PM »
I just tried today and I can't run the blockland client in wine but the server oddly enough seems to work fine so far (except I'm getting a box telling me I have no key entered since it is a new install). If I copy key.dat from a v13 installation on my linux desktop into v14 then it should run.
Does the server still respond after the box comes up. I've tried a few weeks ago, shortly after WINE 1.1.41 came out, and it would freeze after auth.

The problem is that the WINE DLLs lack some functions Blockland needs. Blockland freezes up after the auth server disconnects. I tried using the Windows DLLs, but WINE says it won't work.

The Blockland dedicated server isn't a shell. You can't connect to it with SSH. The only option is polling (sending request for the commands at intervals), which in my opinion is inefficient.

Blockland does not run on wine. You can use a workaround that allows you to start up the game and join other peoples servers, but I haven't found a way to host yet.

Why not?  It's not like you guys use it...
We can't kill it like cityRP.
Especially if its 3 times as buggy and 4 timers easier to host completely wrong.

NO.
NO SHARING AT ALL.

It didn't go downhill, it just stopped.
A long time ago.

Hey, but we ended up getting something that worked. A little sloppy and buggy, but it was playable.

Since I'm done worth debated I might start working on a it again. It will probably start with me rewriting the whole core system.

It is free for no one, it hurts everyone. People without it, loose money forcefully to have it.
Then when they get sick the will save money.

One of my really conservative friends said that health care is probably worse then 9/11.

That is the thing, it isn't free.
For them its free. It will cost their employers.

It doesn't matter how hard they are really working. They are in poverty, their employer gets punished.

People will abuse free insurance.
