Modification Help / Re: GUI That displays text in file
« on: December 15, 2007, 04:55:13 PM »
Alright, I'll make sure it's like that.

For the button in the gui, should the command line say: " loadFile(Add-Ons/text.txt) " or " loadFile("Add-Ons/text.txt"); " or " loadFile();

Thanks

Modification Help / More-Visible Lights
« on: December 15, 2007, 03:51:59 PM »
Hey, I was trying to figure out how to make the lights on my server visible from basically where they disappear. I tried making the radius larger but that made them way to large spanning. I tried to make the light brighter but that did nothing that I wanted.

Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!!

Client folder under add-ons? And is that the GUI file, the script file or both?

And yes I did do the second part you just mentioned.

Thanks

Sorry I'm completely new to scripting and I am not sure if I did this right. I put the first two scripts (I started with the just displaying the rules in the GUI before attempting the second part (writing the txt file in-game).

When I tried the GUI in the Editor and clicked on the button (which has the command:    loadFile(Rules);

And in the console it says when I click the button, loadFile: unknown command    [or something along those lines]

I have the two commands or functions in the first part all in one file in the add-ons folder. I replaced the GUI Name with my name for it as you said to.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Thanks a lot!!

Modification Help / GUI That displays text in file
« on: December 12, 2007, 04:36:50 PM »
Hey,

I am taking a very large plunge into BLR Scripting. I am trying to make a GUI which displays all the text in a file on the server host's computer. Such as the one on the Rise of Blockland server that displays Updates, Rules etc. Also, if possible, I'd like to at one point make a GUI which can edit the text in the file (so I can edit for example the Updates and Rules in-game).

Thanks!!

EDIT: Sorry if this has been posted already, I searched many times before posting.

Modification Help / Re: Event Brick

Space Guy, could you please make it so we can save the wrench events?

Yes, please. I have so many events that need to be programmed and I sometimes feel I can't shut down my server because they take so long.

Thanks

Copy the strobe and mess around with the times.

Remember that A = Lowest, and Z = Highest.

So a strobe is basically AAAZ

Or for a fade in/out AAAMZM

Do you mean in the keys section?

Modification Help / Modifying Light cs Files

Hey, how would I (who has very little understanding or experience with this coding language) make a light that for example is like a strobe but instead of strobing every like 40 miliseconds (or whatever it is by default), have it strobe once every 10 seconds? I have tried editing some of the parts of the current strobe and reloading the script, but it has yet to work.

Any help / suggestions?

Thanks

I downloaded it but none of the events are being saved. Is there a way to do this?

Is Wrench Events an add-on? Sorry if I sound like a n00b I just haven't heard of it before.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could make a simple script (with or without a Gui) that deletes bricks based on wether they are in a specific persistence file (or save file to be correct). I have an addon to my main city build which adds lights and emitters which I use on occasion and do not like having to clear all bricks and then load the city without lights (there is a file with the city, then the city with the lights and such).

Please post with any questions/solutions,

Thanks!

The one with the bricks already there is still not curvy enough. I don't mean to be picky however I am just looking to make my build as lifelike as possible.

Thanks
