I think a part of the problem lies in our parents. When we where younger, we used to be able to stand the crappy two bit movies and shows. The newer generations being over protected and drugged up cant stand this because they have lost any originality in them and cant think like us. To explain it, look at an old 1950's show. We would get bored to hell of it. Now as we look at the newer shows. they are ether too repetitive or they are too random. Both things making the quality crappy and not as entertaining to us, but entertaining to the younger generations.
On another note. Even cartoons are depressing these days. The whole world is just one big bummer now.
