The main idea is there is no atmosphere to protect us from the sun after a war or something, because there is no atmosphere the suns rays are very deadly to direct skin and cause the world to turn into a large wasteland. during the day you have to stay underground or risk extreme burns / skin cancer. blah blah blah
You can expand on this concept or just ignore it I don't really care just something I thought of last night.
