Thats not fair though, you said you started out with three piles, but you end up with seven legos. In other words, you have to stick with what you start out with, not change it...

How about having three piles, two with two legos, and one with three legos.  You have three piles, then combine them to make four legos.

But then you just have two piles...

I am going to be in a dark robe with a hokey mask and a knife. I call him Jason's cousin twice removed, don't ask. Anyway, I just stand around the street staring at people creeping them out. I think they are creeped out by me in a costume and not in real life is because my eyes are are hard and cold, while my body is friendly and kind looking.

No, You can combine the 3 piles into one, then turn a pile in half to form two.

2 + 1 + 3 = 6 and all together 7


And for those who I have not told or have not figured out, the answer to my riddle was a promise. For you give people a promise and in order to keep true to your word, you keep it.

That is like taking it apart. I'm sorry for not being clear, here is the list of thing you cannot to to "take it apart:"

• Divide in half
• Cut into pieces
• Anything that defies the laws of physics

The way you and laremere are describing it makes it sound like you are dividing the pile in half. Unless you can explain more about how you can turn one pile to form two without dividing in half, or anything of that nature, without taking it apart, I am deeming it wrong.
