My internet philosophy is that I wanna know what people are thinking about, and the best way to pick their brain on what they think is to challenge them on the notion. That way, they have incentive to respond and will think about their response before posting it.

The key thing there is the "Think about their response before posting it"...

Deus Ex does a lot of assuming and not a lot of critical thinking. The question is that how can he have so much insight into my train of thought when he isn't using the full potential of his own?

i just think when they clearly arent very knowledgeable about x and are blatantly hardheaded about it would be a good time to stop trying. deus ex does well constructing arguments on their own, just not when he's not actually arguing/debating with someone
