Games / Achron: Time travel RTS!

No gimmicks. In addition to a mini-map, there is a map of time, or a timeline. You can go back in time and change your orders while 'time waves' propegate the changes. Paradoxes work by oscillating between the two possibilities until one falls off the timeline. In addition to changing orders, you can also send units back in time. You can play in fast forward while your enemy plays in slow-mo, and your ally is paused to give more precise commands to his units.

Seekers of Victory

Seekers of Victory searches for other Clans to war with and uses Sun-tzu's teachings to achieve total victory.

We are for those who are inspired by Valarius Maximus' post on The Art of War in Minecraft, which can be found here.

We make the enemy panic because we are masters of deception; as they deal with our stronger, faster, and smarter moves, victory is already ours. The clan is also for those exited about helping to overcome the challenge of gathering a large group of people together to become the perfect war machine. However, Seekers of Victory understands that our members also have lives and does not require attendance obligations of its members.

The clan is open to anyone who wants to join as well. When we are not at war we are teaching each other techniques, training, working on clan builds, goofing around, or doing something else that is fun. Clan members are encouraged to game together outside of Minecraft and help each other with any other projects as well. The goal is to have a close-knit community that will be online when a member logs on. In this way each member doesn't have to wait for action and can spend more time in real life, too.

Requirements

IRC
Every member is expected to idle in the clan IRC (chat room) whenever they are on the computer. When you are accepted you will be given a link to the channel. You can then bookmark the page and every time you turn on your computer just open up that page and minimize it. Or you can chat, of course.

Mumble
Members are required to download Mumble. It is just like TeamSpeak and Ventrilo, but it has almost 0 latency. Go to the Mumble website and download the client to the right. Install and configure, and then when you are accepted you will be given the server address.
You do NOT need a mic! All you need to be able to do is hear the people who do have mics.

We need LEADERS!

Those who wish to join Seekers of Victory could be exited about:
 • the idea of being part of an eventually super effective army
 • leading people to victory
 • being a stealthy, patient, skilled, and intelligent ninja or spy
 • going into battle knowing that death means the loss of time invested in your equipment
 • outsmarting your opponent
 • working with the same squad until you work perfectly together
 • making perfect traps and redstone circuits
 • supplying an army better than anyone else
 • having the enemy panic because we make it seem like we are stronger, faster, smarter than them all the time
 • epic clan builds when not at war

link: Application
You will have to first register on our forums listed above. Then you can fill out the application in the link and post it there. When you are accepted you will then be able to use the forums.

"Pyramid" build enclosed by walls and ceilings.
Agile player with my own twist:
     -Running costs energy
     -Jumping costs energy depending on how much you jump, so don't hop around like a friend
     -At low energy you will slow down or stop for a moment
Due to popular request this feature has been toned down A LOT.
Several platforms in the build where you can replenish energy.
Weapons:
     -Butterfly knife
     -Basic Shuriken that I edited for more damage
     -Grapple Rope
     -Flash Bang
     -Smoke Grenade

Modification Help / Help for BL RTS: Directional fireRelay code
« on: August 08, 2011, 05:37:28 AM »
Hey I posted a reply on one of my threads and forgot that I had to ask it here. So here it is:

Quote
You know how I was saying the Events weren't working properly? Well take a look at this. Say I use this output in the direction of up. With the way this is written, it would only work if the target brick overlaps the center. In the case that the target brick is offset away from the center (which is my case all the time) the event doesn't even work.

The default events of fireRelayUp etc. use some sort of dynamic tracking system that tracks the nearest target brick no matter it's position along the original brick's edge. It also (surprise, surprise) can activate ALL the bricks along it's edge. So to everyone who thought I just sucked, go suck an egg. Anyhoo, how do I take a look at the default directional fireRelay events' code so I can edit/report this VCE event?

Code: [Select]
function fxDtsBrick::VCE_relayCallFunction(%brick,%direction,%name,%args,%client)
{
%start = posFromTransform(%brick.getTransform());
%db = %brick.getDatablock();
%angle = %brick.getAngleID();
if(%angle == 1 || %angle == 3)
{
%addX = %db.brickSizeY * 0.55;
%addY = %db.brickSizeX * 0.55;
}
else
{
%addX = %db.brickSizeX * 0.55;
%addY = %db.brickSizeY * 0.55;
}
%addZ = %db.brickSizeZ * 0.22;
//Up Down North East South West
switch(%direction)
{
case 0:
%add = 0 SPC 0 SPC %addZ;
case 1:
%add = 0 SPC 0 SPC -%addZ;
case 2:
%add = 0 SPC %addY SPC 0;
case 3:
%add = %addX SPC 0 SPC 0;
case 4:
%add = 0 SPC -%addY SPC 0;
case 5:
%add = -%addX SPC 0 SPC 0;
}
%end = vectorAdd(%start,%add);
%ray = containerRaycast(%start,%end,$TypeMasks::FxBrickAlwaysObjectType,%brick);
%col = firstWord(%ray);
if(isObject(%col))
{
if(getTrustLevel(%col,%brick) < 2)
return;
%col.VCE_callFunction(%name,%args,%client);
}
}
