Off Topic / Need ideas for what to get

I need to create a list for Christmas of what to get, so I don't rush around thinking of stuff later on. My relatives are willing to give me cold hard cash, but they usually give me that anyways along with a game or something. I cannot seem to find anything I want that I do not have already. I have an Xbox, I have a good computer which can run Crysis on max, and I don't want a PS3. I occasionally come up with neat ideas like Eastwest Quantum Leap, but I am at a loss.

I like:
Almost any type of game out there, as long as it is good.
Creative things
Things involving music
Things that are just awesome to own
Things to do with aviation


Please help me out, I am not looking for super expensive pocket devouring items, I am just looking for ideas. Please do not start flaming or any other stupidity here.

General Discussion / Blockland actual server

I was in kalphiter's dogfight when it was first up and asked what ISP he has, since it had no lag at all with about 40 players. He then told me it's an actual server given to him by ATF clan. I asked a few ATF members about the clan and the server and such. They gavce me links and such on how to get it working and the comparisons to other servers.

The problem is that the server can cost $60-110 per month. What would have to be done would be share the server cost with other members and let them pick a price to pay (Greater than $5 probably) per month. So a good 5-10 people paying different prices would be needed.

Problems are that it is a thing that relies on trust with other members. People can easily get your private add-ons if you put them onto the server, and could also infect the server as well. This is why if this were to be done, it should only be done with trustworthy, contributive members like Chrono and Jaydee, who don't dolt around all day in off topic posting stupid videos, memes, and references all day. This is mainly why I posted it in general discussion, because any members here that actually still care about the community check general discussion.

I also wonder if blockland can be one of those communities which work together and spend more than $20 dollars on things or if it is a bunch of kids arguing over and posting stupid stuff in every single board and topic all day who claim they are "broke" when it's really just that mommy and daddy won't buy their games for them, I'm thinking it's mainly the latter with a few people fitting the first statement.

Anyways...

for 49 € per month. That completely blows away most server offers in America, which cost the same price, but give you about 100 GB and 1-2 GB ram, maybe even less sometimes.

The server could easily hold up to 100 players. It would also be useful for hosting 24/7 clan dedicateds that can hold many bricks. Now another problem is that most people are not completely dedicated to blockland, which is ok. The server could be used for other games if you install them, such as ARMA 2, BF2, Minecraft (assuming dedicated hosting works like that on minecraft), Garry's mod, and others.

If you pick to install windows web edition (+$15 a month) or windows standard (+$25 a month), it would come set up for you. You could also use this rescue system thing which allows you to install your own OS onto the server, but I don't know much about that. If you're really good with stuff like that, read this.

I am not saying I am going to purchase this, I am not saying I will even contribute to this if someone did purchase it (though I probably would), I am wondering if people would actually contribute to this if it was set up legit and not some "give me money I will buy this for you" deal.

Create a minigame, set skis and rockets (or any radius damage weapon) as the weapons, get on the skis and hit yourself with a rocket. You will automatically dismount off your skis and receive console errors. I recreated this bug with no add-ons running at all, on a default map.

Description

There is not much to explain, but looking it up will tell you alot about it. The gameplay is similar to most other MMOs, but there is something about it, in my opinion, that makes it better.

Tons of stuff to explore and do, plus the style of architecture and areas really makes the game cool. I love exploring the deserts and going to sky islands. At first it can be like "oh this is stupid and boring", which is probably due to the non exciting tutorial area, which I hate. Once you reach level 20 or so, you get to start going to dungeons and other cool places. Unlike most MMOs, the world isn't either too bright, too dark, too soft, too gothic, too anime, and so on. The game blends all the styles and each island or zone or dungeon has its own unique appearance.

Guilds are usually active, depending on which one you join. You need at least 7 people to form one, which is nice because you don't get a lot of "join halo fanclub giuld plz its rlly cool." The majority (90%) of players are helpful and choose not to be deliberate game ruiners.

House designing is cool, as well as armor making and such. Each class and subclass has their own unique abilities that make the, unique. I really like how you are always finding something new. When you play runescape, you can name every item you see, every spell that is cast, every major enemy and dungeon. You don't go "Woah! What weapon is this guy using! Where did he get it!" In Everquest, it is pretty much the opposite.

There are so many different zones and bosses that all the dungeons and zones are impossible to take on all in one leveling up sequence (leveling up from 1-80 and then stopping). Every boss, named, legendary, whatever you want to call it, has its own distinct challenge making it harder than the rest, not just some monster with some stupid name (darkheart the depressed shadow killer).

I go under options to edit my avatar and all the boxes where it should show your avatar are blank. It says it cannot local the texture but they are all there it seems. Once I click on one of the boxes, it messes up even more. My player in game appears all black.

It's a program that allows you to make terrain and edit it similar to the blockland mission editor except it has it bit more features and better lighting/rendering quality. You can import and export textures and add water and lighting. You can export the terrains as .obj files which can be imported into other programs such as blender or 3ds max.




You can import and export heightmaps which can be used to make maps for blockland and other games out of what you made. It would be cool if you posted some stuff you made and maybe a heightmap if you are willing to. Blockland could use some better terrain maps for anyone willing to use these for them.

Why the TDM mod didn't come with this, I don't no. I am tired of people teamkilling vehicles. You have a full helicopter and the one idiot who didn't get a seat shoots it over and over. You shoot from inside a vehicle and it damages the vehicle. I want a mod that prevents teamkilling vehicles, both bots like the horse and physics vehicles like the jeep.

I want it to make you lose the amount of resources specified in the vehicle's datablock as well as return and not force you to pay when the vehicle has an error when spawning, such as stuck in terrain.

It's packaged by the way, just didn't feel like pasting the whole mega package.

I love themebuilds. A themebuild, in my opinion, is any build that follows a set theme. For example, city, space, medieval, and so on. I decided I would be hosting a themebuild that will change themes similar to how Badspot's server changes builds.

It is broke on dedicated servers, it spams the console, and is generally in need of an overhaul. I can't see how it remains on RTB when it has these bugs. I know for a fact it isn't only me because it was broke before on various dedicated servers including [C] Server which runs nothing but defaults, building tools, and bricks. The only 'fix' to this is to load a build first on a dedicated, but this should still be looked into.

The dedicated server problem includes some kind of bug involving JVS content and terrain build rules.

Modern War: Revamp
My Modern war pack generally sucks except for a few things, most unreleased. Forget the old Modern War pack, I am wiping all of that off and starting with new things.

I need suggestions. Tons of people want military things, half the suggestions out there are for military things. But half of those half are the same things over and over again.

I don't care if we already have something similar to it.
I don't care if you think it is pointless.
I don't care if you think we have enough vehicles or weapons or whatever

I want suggestions that are both unique and generic. Whether it be a troop transport plane, a gun with millions of attachments, or an entirely new idea. If it is military related I want to hear it. I want quality suggestions as well, not "gun whit gernade launcher plz." It also helps if I actually have pictures.
