though i still wouldnt mind a server tag system with checkbox filters.
i could hide all the passworded servers and stuff when surfing around
you already can hide passworded servers, but the ability to tag a server with stuff like TDM, RP, Family, or City would be cool

How is this? Might make it an addon, although I have a more original project in the works.

i personally would make it more default style, and change the tracks and cylinder edges.

You can't change everything about the community, but poor servers are something easily fixed by users. You could easily host your own server if you don't like what you see. There are so many users who complain about all the bad servers when they could be working together on a server that they will enjoy. I personally don't care about other servers anymore. I am no longer concerned with anyone else's server and no longer rely on other people hosting, so I feel no need to complain about the state of the servers/community. The state of the game itself, however, is much more interesting to discuss.

wow, a bunch of different titles to give to people who cause problems. it's almost like a challenge to see who can reach -7. this is such a good idea!

General Discussion / Re: Boss Battles - Map rotation beta

Additionally, considering that not only were we the first, but also the most successful of all servers in the Boss Battles genre, I don't see a big issue with using a name that at least has some air of authenticity to it. It's not like anyone is going to get even close to having as well-made a server as ours.
Don't think too highly of yourselves now. I know quite a few people who could easily match it. It's rude to say that nobody will even be able to come close.
I don't see what's wrong with servers sponsoring each other.
I don't really see a need to sponsor people, it's not like these servers are obscure or anything. What exactly is the purpose of sponsoring each-other? Are they paying you in exchange for having a billboard on your server or something? It seems rather silly.
Admin applications and a judging panel have helped keep our admins to the highest standards. This is of course just an opinion on both our behalves, but I have not seen it go wrong for us.
I can pick admins of the "highest standards" without having them fill out some form about why they are so qualified to be accepted into your administration guild. Over time it seems to have become more and more pretentious. This is one server, not a global moderator position. Why do you feel the need to take your administration system to the extreme? It's a massive ego-jerk, "Why should we accept you" "You need to prove yourself". Filling out an application in a proper 'format', writing a couple paragraphs describing your experience, gathering recommendations from 'distinguished' blockland hosts. This is what I mean by blockland servers taking themselves too seriously.
I'd need to know more about what you dislike about donation tiers to really discuss that at all with you.

I also don't see what's wrong with running the server like a business. For the record, it is not a business; our goal isn't to make any money. But I feel running it like such helps keep things less chaotic.
This isn't a damn kickstarter project. You don't need 8 damn tiers for donations. "an email address at pecon.us", seriously? this goes back to my point of taking yourselves too seriously. You can say that acting 'professional' helps keep things organized. then it's fine, but 8 donation tiers, sponsoring, and offering people subdomains/emails provide no organizational benefit. You say it helps "keep things less chaotic", but it seems counter intuitive. If you want to keep things "less chaotic", remove the superfluous stuff.

Perhaps not, but my question still stands, since you're posting here now with the same crap as back then. You haven't played since then, so I'll ask again, what is your problem?
keep in mind that this is a discussion forum for players of Blockland, and people are free to voice their thoughts in topics that they choose to. This includes criticism and opinion. I could understand if I was spamming up your thread "every month or so", but that is not the case.

I do not have a problem with the gameplay of the server nor do I have a problem with the people who play the server. I am just offering opinion on the way the server is run. There is nothing wrong with having your name in the server, and I don't see why it should be removed. It is Pecon 7's boss battles, that is what it has been known as. There is no need for you to remove your name and call yourself "Boss Battles". You are not the only boss battles server, so don't make it seem like you are. Sponsors, admin applications, forms to fill out, recommendations, a judging panel, an official server key, donation 'tiers'; in my opinion it's just handicapped and unnecessary. Your server is not a business and there is no need to treat it like one. Don't start fooling yourself.

Okay seriously, what is your problem. You come in here every month or so to make some snarky comment about us 'taking things too seriously' or 'you're doing everything wrong' or 'the admins are crap' or whatever else. You haven't joined the server since late 2012, get lost.
i also haven't posted here since 2012. it's rude to tell lies.

It has been Pecon7's Boss Battles for years, why is it suddenly an issue that it has Pecon7 in it.
when blockland servers start taking themselves too seriously.

Games / Re: Want an opinion for a game

why not have separate game-modes? you could easily sell this if you let people pick up and drag/throw the burger parts around like they do in ____ simulator. youtube tards love "randumb XD" games so just add in the ability to act handicapped and people will eat this right up.

General Discussion / Re: Speedkart Hardcore Mode
« on: July 10, 2014, 04:11:04 AM »
isn't that why superkart is being developed?
I'm sorry but I don't really follow what other people are developing. I am only truly concerned with the status of the things I'm making. I do not know what superkart is nor do I know how far along it is. If someone is working on a harder version of speedkart, then I guess that is nice for people like OP who think they can handle a challenge. Personally though, I am not very interested so I know little about it.

i'm sorry but this is just stupid. if you want a "hardcore" speedkart, make insanely tough tracks loaded with traps and obstacles. instead of making it seem harder, just make it harder. this is a sandbox game, you know.
