also if you dont want to get wiped just back up the files
the files for your player and universe should be in the folder; just copy it into a backup folder then plop it back in when the update's out
lol, doesnt work like that. sorry.

Too bad most of the things in this engine have been done before on older consoles like the PS3 with GTA V. Nothing too impressive or new.
i really hope you're kidding. the ps3 looks nowhere near as good. gta v looks like stuff and runs at basically 15 frames per second. If this video is actually running real time on a CONSOLE, than that's really impressive. I don't think gta v has nearly the same level of physics, lighting, or particles that were shown here.
Besides it's going to follow the same fate as the CryEngine 3, cool for the first few months, out-mastered/dated in the next.
Literally handicapped. Cryengine 3 isn't outdated, and the point of an engine is that it can be modified so it works better with what you need it to. Cryengine 3 is still used today to make games that look much better than even the "next gen"games that are coming to ps4/bone.

edit: just noticed this
purpose of gaming.
They should put more of their budget into voice acting, story development
lmfao

you should at least put in the used prices, so people know what they're ACTUALLY worth.

glad i didn't buy it yet

for me, it's alright so far. i know a few friends who fell for the hype and were pretty disappointed that after 2 years of delay, they still don't have much to show. the enemy ai is handicapped. they flicker back and forth and cannot seem to pathfind well at all. i don't like how you can swing your weapons through blocks either. the building seems like it had more potential than terraria though.

i'm hoping there's more content that i haven't found yet, though i'm still on tutorial planet. i hope there is actually a lot of stuff underground, right now terraria's caves seem way more interesting, with cave paths leading to abandoned mines and cool stuff.

i'm hoping that biomes have creatures generated to fit them. like a desert biome will have desert looking animal that use mainly fire or sand, not ice, to fight. right now all i've encountered were some farting barney the dinosaurs and their palette swap friends. i also hope that higher level planets have more interesting/complex enemies, and it's not just increased hp/increased damage. i'd love to fight larger enemies and bosses on more threatening planets. when the only thing that new enemies have going for them is increased stats, it gets pretty boring.

looking forward to playing more though. i'm hoping tutorial planet is just a ruse, and that there's actually a lot more (interesting) things to discover.

Explain

i don't get whats to explain. you were wrong. bricks take up way more data. not even a full loop of slopes is 6 megabytes and is a pain to ghost/save/load, and the slopes map is 500 KB fully packaged and ready to use.

using a brush on the terrain is much faster than building something of the same scale, especially without float cheating. that is why brush tools were designed in the first place, so you didn't have to edit a map vertex by vertex.

what about custom faces
speaking of which, i think faces should come in "layers". you can choose hair and change color, general face shape, and maybe accessory (like beard or mustache). then you could have like, a pink haired bearded girl or something. i hate how you have to take up so much avatar icon space just to have different hair colors. it should be a slider.

in my opinion, we shouldn't use replicas of builds. it's not that they're bad, it's just that some people may see it and think that the community is I creative and resort to copying other games.
i think things like replicas work better if it's just a brief one second shot, where a fan might be like "wait, was that the mario level? that's pretty cool" instead of it just being a main focus.

if your video card is good enough, you should use ports shader mod to make the game look next-gen x10
how about no. normal shaders can run on most average computers. shader mod can barely run on even high end computers.
