exactly

Also, I have secondhand embarrassment or embarrassment-by-proxy, which means that if a character in a video has an embarrassing moment, it's embarrassing and cringy for me, too. I just can't watch this show, it happens too much. I had to skip half of episode 2.
^Just read this^

Wow you're really gimping yourself. It's a really good series, easily of favorite of mine and many other people's. Can't believe you'd skip watching a good show because of some made up disorder. Man up and finish it.

Don't really get this thread. Why the hell would you want us to explain? You're supposed to watch the show and the pieces come together and then you're like "OH DAMN! THATS WHY THAT HAPPENED!". We're not supposed to spoil the show for you unless you're actually handicapped. Watch the show before posting so you don't spoil it for yourself.

IIRC create-a-style was one of the pioneering features of Sims 3 - They would advertise how you could customize every furniture and blah blah.

Why tf would they take that out in Sims 4? I used that feature so much. It allowed me to use almost any piece of furniture and still have the room match - Now Ill be limited in what I can purchase.

And while we recognize that some of you will be disappointed that pools and toddlers won’t be available when The Sims 4 Base Game launches in September, you should know that we’re building an incredibly strong foundation that is capable of fulfilling every one of your desires in the years to come.
They're not even hiding the fact that they're gimping the base game so they can sell it as DLC. another game i'm not going to buy.

Massive TDM but with entire loving nations.  Diplomacy and Politics attached.
An empires server would be kinda cool. Like mini empires except not mini and played with bots/other players.

I've always wanted to get PRPG to a fully functioning state but I'm lacking island builds. I'd also like to finish BAO some day too. In one hand, I want an RPG where the players control the world through their own actions, and on the other I want to tell my own story with my own worlds.

Starting from the beginning, their grip on the bow is too wide. It is more noticeable on the right, but this habit shows that they are attempting to generate tone in an improper manner. They can move the bow more consistently and create better tone by narrowing their grip. You can't see it in the still image, but the grip is also very rigid. Likely from nervousness, they are holding on very tight when everything should be more relaxed. This holds true even for the intensity they are going for in the style of the song.

The problems with the bow hand I said before are a bit clearer in this shot. You can also see that the hand doing the fingering is flexing inward, which is leading to very sharp and inconsistent vibrato. I tend to have this habit. With the thumb pushing like that, his fingerings are more likely to be less accurate and the vibrato will suffer. Again, his hands and fingers are tense and rigid, which shouldn't happen in any style.

The song isn't technically difficult, so the notes and rhythms line up pretty well, and the remainder is the slides and sul ponticello and whatnot.
Very good! You're actually criticizing them like an instructor would in a private lesson.
The point is that they need to look to other outlets to improve and refine if that's what they want to do. They have to know that a program like this is not the way to expand their potential. Itzhak Perlman didn't get to where he was today by being evaluated from a panel like this, he built himself up to a level of high talent from where he made mainstream appearances. Please stop regurgitating this garbage, this show it about talent and the talent wasn't presented in the act.
The show is called "America's got Talent" but it's not just about showcasing the best of the best, just like how American Idol isn't about showcasing the best singers. If you watch these shows, the judges are lax at first but become more critical as time goes on. In American Idol, for example, the contestants in the final 12 or so are all given private lessons where they are critiqued in the way that you did. Just because they enter this show doesn't mean they think this is how they're going to improve. It's a fun thing for kids to do, just like a school talent show. You're treating it like an actual professional music competition, which it's not.

One of the main points Mr. Perlman was trying to make was that kids shouldn't be treated as musical objects. They shouldn't be grown like plants and bred only as musicians. He is against kids being taught only how to perform in professional concerts, and lectured/criticized to become perfect musicians. They should be allowed to do fun things like talent shows and enjoy being a kid for a bit.
And what's with the categorization of me? Who are you to decide that I'm the elitist? Did I ever say that I could have done better than this? Look at yourself when you cast someone off as an "elitist friend".
A cellist of four to five years could honestly do this. These guys aren't doing anything impressive with their instruments It was simple rhythm and melody in basic positions with some gimmicky screeching mixed in. It's just style with no actual talent or substance behind it.

I've played the cello for 8 years. I got past the 2cellos screeching phase two ago.
You're forgetting what you've wrote. Pathetic...

If you aren't going to write an essay, you're better off not posting if this kind of immature attempt at a jab is what you produce otherwise.
just matching the efforts. if you're to lazy to read something mature, i'm too lazy to post it.  :cookieMonster:

Thanks captain, that's what we've been saying.
Attempting to turn this into something personal, aside from being hilarious, is not doing anything because it is totally irrelevant.
Man you are bad at this huh.. you're just as bad as the other kid.

They are still learning and aren't professional musicians yet, but they still went out and performed for people, and the judges recognized they have potential. Re-read the rest of my post. The judges know they aren't as good as professional musicians, they know that they aren't world-class acts. They see that they have the ability and courage to play, and inspire them to continue by putting them through to the next round. I honestly can't believe you two brats are honestly getting upset that the audience clapped and cheered for two aspiring musicians. Pathetic.
Pursuit of this built up on what these judges that don't know the cello told them will only lead them to get shut down if they ever want to be serious about the instrument. What it takes to make a master in any music related field is relentless critique from experience professionals, not mindless bolstering. Your attack about the supposed pedestal I'm placing myself upon is asinine and irrelevant to what I'm saying with my posts. AGT is providing them with an easy pat on the back from people they know they can get a reaction about of without doing much.As someone who has been repeatedly exposed to world-class talent and taught what to listen for, my personal skill playing the instrument is not what I was presenting as my basis.
The difference is being shot-down in front of the whole world vs being critiqued in private lessons with an instructor. These are two young boys who are still young with their instrument. Getting BTFO by the judges over a whole bunch of technical imperfections isn't going to encourage them. "There are people who are uncanny, who are finished products at a young age. I wasn't, thank God.” That's a quote from Itzhak Perlman, an actual masterclass musician who recognizes that young kids are supposed to sound like young kids. Someone who understands that people who have been playing longer will sound better, and that young kids aren't going to be technically perfect. Someone who understands that it takes time for talent to grow.
But this act does not show what talent they may have on a show titled "America's Got Talent". Exactly, their America's Got Talent act does not demonstrate talent.
But it demonstrates potential, which is what the judges saw. You're upset that they didn't show talent, but it's not like they won the competition. They aren't getting awarded anything. I don't see why you, as a "experienced cellist", are trying to say they don't have talent. Do you want to show off that you know more? Do you want to boast about your superiority? Because that's what I get from this thread, especially it's title.

They played technically average. The crowd got up for the gimmick. A place full of people who know music would not have reacted the same way. Since when is talent based on how gullible your audience is?
I don't condemn them personally, but the act and the audience's reaction. Have I actually shown true aggravation at any point in this thread? Am I not permitted to voice my opinion as to the amount of talent this act demonstrated? I truly do not understand where this is coming from, as all this post amounts to is my contemplation on their ability to trap an uneducated audience, like Taboo is saying.
And if you put a magician in front of a bunch of magicians, they won't have the same reaction
And if you put a juggler in front of a bunch of jugglers, they won't have the same reaction
And if you put a chef in front of a bunch of chefs, they won't have the same reaction
"Well guys, if you put them in front of a bunch of people of similar or greater skill, then they won't be impressed!!!!" I don't see how this obvious deduction is supposed to prove anything.

You're an amateur who's talking like he's seen the world. You're explanation has made you seem even lower than you were originally. So now you aren't just upset because you think they aren't good, you're upset because people LIKED them. Holy stuff, you get more pathetic by the second. Their ability to "trap" an "uneducated" audience, do you hear yourself? You're putting yourself on such a high pedestal talking down about the entire audience, the judges, and the players themselves.

They most likely aren't going to win, and they probably won't make it to the finals. But the judges sent them through because they recognize that they have potential and want to hear more of it. The judges understand that these kids aren't professionals, but still show amazement because they want to inspire people to continue pursuing and furthering their talent. By sending them through, it not only encourages them to continue playing, but it inspires people watching to continue furthering their talents as well. The judges recognize that their power isn't just to pick who is the best, but to inspire people to continue pursuing talents and trying new things. They see potential in what a thick-head like you doesn't, and that is the difference between you and them.

They are average but they are on TV wooing a bunch of people who don't know what "average" is. That is the joke here.
No, i'm sorry but OP is the joke here.
