Off Topic / Hazard's Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland
« on: March 06, 2010, 10:20:48 AM »

I'm kind of undecided about this movie. Overall I guess I can say that it was pretty good. It was very entertaining and I loved seeing a movie that wasn't like any other movie in the world. I loved Tim Burton's directing again, and Johnny Depp is possibly the best actor in the world (in my opinion) because he played an amazing Mad Hatter.
So the movie is entertaining, but some parts are just plain stupid. Cheesy lines and random things that don't make sense are thrown around every once in a while. Not to mention, the story is kind of stupid and loses you after a while.
This version of Alice in Wonderland is not a remake of the old one. It's more like a sequel. In this version, Alice goes back to Wonderland as an adult. Most of the people in Wonderland remember her and she doesn't remember them. Pretty cool concept, right? Don't worry, it gets worse. So she comes to Wonderland, and she has to full fill this prophecy about a girl (Alice) killing the Jabberwocky (which is this big bird/dragon thing) and dethrone the queen. The story is easily the dumbest part of the movie.
A couple other things to note: Alice is kind of a bitch throughout the entire movie. It isn't nearly as fun to watch a bitchy adult go through wonderland than it is to watch a cute little girl do it. (inb4creep). Also, there are some pieces missing from the first one of course since this is a "sequel". The turtle guy, the two ladies with the baby, and the walrus that tells the story, are all out of the picture. I was kind of looking forward to seeing those characters and was disappointed when I didn't.
I liked the movie, I'm glad I went, it was just barely worth the price of a movie ticket. If you enjoy Tim Burton movies and strange and completely out of the ordinary movies, go ahead and go see it. If this doesn't sound like a movie for you, don't see it, but I recommend everyone at least sees it on DVD.

Did you have to explain all the pointless stuff before you got on the bus?

I got Trials HD. It's really fun, but it gets boring after a few months. It's easily worth the money though.

Anyone seeing a Left 4 Dead space version here? That first one looks like a charger, but an alien robot.  :cookieMonster:
EDIT: Second one could be a witch.

Games / God of War Question
« on: February 18, 2010, 11:27:35 PM »
So God of War 3 is coming out soon and I definitely plan on getting it, but I was wondering, is it necessary to play the first two games before playing the third? I've heard they're both really good games so I might play them anyway, but I mean in terms of the story and understanding the game.

I hadn't seen it until now and I, for one, thank you for posting it again for if not, I would have never seen this very entertaining video.

What kind of music will you be playing?
What kind of music do you guys play?

I can't really explain it. It's kind of a reggae rock type thing. Some of our influences are Slightly Stoopid, Wolfmother, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

My friends and I are starting a band. We're trying to decide the official band name. What do you guys think?
And for those of you that don't know, a nebula is a dust cloud in space.

They took the humor out of it D:
I read that they were going to keep it. A developer said, "we wouldn't get rid of something that worked," talking about the humor from the first Bad Company. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they did, and I haven't seen or heard about any humor aspects in it at all.
