I thought Johnny Depp's The Lone Ranger was good. In fact, I thought it wasn't bad at all.

Its reputation was ruined essentially because of today's political climate and nitpicky critics.

Other plot ideas involving soda spillage off the top of my head:

*When Tony and Kevin are visiting a graveyard, Kevin accidentally spills soda on someone's grave, starting a feud with the family visiting to pay respects.

*Kevin spills soda on his crotch at school, and must hide the embarrassing spillage in various ways until it dries.

The bland protagonist with a boring personality who is special because of ... Reasons (usually inheritance), and doesn't actually do anything, but instead has things happen to them.

The alien species with superpowers that looks exactly like Humans.

The protagonist being the progeny of a Human woman and a Special Person.

The Evil General who kills his own minions (essentially wasting resources) out of anger.

The technologically advanced space civilization ... Ruled by a monarchy, with guards armed with spears, that also has an arena.

I could go on ...

Personally no, but perfect love-changing technology would be interesting. It would probably diminish the tension between homoloveuals and traditionalist parents. Lesbian and Gay couples could use it to make babies the fun way, and their parents would be thrilled until one of them changed back.

In my opinion, the original Star Wars (great movie, don't get me wrong) and sequels are placed on a pedestal too high for their own good.

The prequels couldn't climb the pedestal. In trying to climb it they left scratch marks. Disney utilized nostalgia (and Harrison Ford), and left many satisfied, but they couldn't reach the very top of fans' expectations.
