Off Topic / Yay, Blue Screen Of Death!

I was browsing a usual website I go to, to find a custom font similar to the cool reversible Illuminati font. As I was scrolling down the page I was suddenly interrupted by the Blue Screen Of Death in my face. I lasted for about 5 seconds then disappeared, rebooting my machine in the process. The following few times I attempted desperately to boot up my randomly crippled system. It would load up and show the Vista Orb at startup and then the sound would get clipped and repeated, and that horrible screen showed up again and rebooted.

Thankfully, HP saved my computer. It automatically detected the whole thing and asked me if I wanted to do the Microsoft Startup Repair (It even said that probably won't work) or a system restore. So I did a quick restore to before I uninstalled a bunch of old games, and it began restoring. Half way through the restore, disaster again, as the screen showed up but this time locked my computer up completely.

I hardbooted it and loaded it up again. I was expecting the same thing to happen, but strangely the system booted up. Everything is ok, but what really confuses me is that I have FSX and my old games back for some reason... and the restore didn't even go properly.

TL;DR:Don't google Illuminati. /conspiracy

EDIT: Also, the weird thing, I did not install anything recently or change my hardware. I didn't do anything, it just happened for no reason?

It's perfectly balanced with all OS styles. I love it.

It's originally Vista, but it has chunks of iMac and Ubuntu jammed into in. For example, it has the Mac-style dock at the bottom, and a finder bar on the taskbar. It also has a Compiz feature, similar to Ubuntu, that allows 4 desktops in a cube form.

I'm damn convinced.


I've become insanely sick of Vista. It has so many bugs, it's horribly slow, and I don't know how many times I've been attacked from a website with Avast barely saving my OS.

And then, today, Miga tells me that Ubuntu is open source.

I'm really thinking about switching, I'm going to try the disc-mounted tour first.

Off Topic / Dxdiag says I am not using all of my RAM

I just checked DXDiag to see if I had DirectX 10 so I could play Shattered Horizon, and noticed this:

My computer came with 4GB of RAM, it said right on the box.

DXDiag says I only have 2044mb (I'm supposed to have ~4000mb).




Is there any way on regaining this rogue RAM I'm missing? Or is it being used for something else?

[Hello blockland people, my moms being a total but star fish poop face.
I'm trying to find new ways to stay out of school but she always says now that my dad got fired "/sarcasmYEAR  DAD WONT LET UUUUUU/sarcasm".So is there any good ways for me to convince her to let me stay home?
I tried a cold but she said that it took 3 days to get one not just one but i looked that up online and shes a total ass liar.I tried fakeing a sore thought the next day after she got hers she says"I GOT MINE FROMM CIGARETS<and yet she still loving smokes them>".So i need some new ways to stay home.

General Discussion / Maleware in Addons folder - Locked, not caused from a downloaded addon

I just got back to my computer, and my avast screensaver said that it had detected mailware.

When I got out of the screensaver and Avast popped up, it said that the file was in c:\Program Files (x86)\Blockland\Addons.

Someone has some real EXPLAININ' to do. I don't join other people's servers, I strictly stay in my own due to too long loading for other servers (Unless it's someone I've known for a while).

So somebody has snuck some swamp water into one of their addons, we might want to figure out who. I'm sifting through my recently downloaded addons right now.

Mega edit:
I've already deleted the file in my addons folder. Something tells me that a seperate executable, possibly something I recently downloaded, shoved itself into that file.

I redownloaded the 2x cube, scanned it, and got nothing. It definitely must have been another file.

EDIT: stuff, IT'S BACK. The same file, except this time it's in one of my goddamn Garry's Mod addons (Advanced Duplicator).

What is it with this file and infecting game addons?!

Well, anyway, I'm going to do a full scan of my computer to figure out where the hell this mailware is coming from. It obviously isn't someone's addon, it must have been something I downloaded - I've scanned the 2x cube about 50 times now. Same with the SVN of Advanced Duplicator, I get nothing.

So I'm sorry for the false alarm, it's my fault (At least I think it is, siblings :C) Locking.

Well basically, a Robin family built a nest at the side of my house, so I filmed it. One of the babies got eaten by a crow a few months later, though. The rest of the family escaped (Two babies and the mother and father).
