I know it uses fans, but I mean it's probably one of the cheapest types and almost every company makes one.

You're confusing me here - since when is this cheap? it's $65 on it's own, and it's a good, direct-contact heatsink. I don't know where you're getting "every company" 's information from but this is a pretty decent heatsink.

This is "nothing special".

452
Not really, that's a super basic heatsink.

Mm, not basic at all, just fanless - but the fact that it has the Decepticon logo on the top of each fin block makes me cringe a bit.

453
Well anything that's similar to the NH-D14 is also good. You could also replace the fans if you really hated it so much. I stopped caring about how the inside of my case looked apart from cable management and any fans because it's rare that I look through the window.

The equivalent (and if not better) to the Noctua is the Phanteks I posted. Essentially it's the Noctua, but larger and comes in a whole bunch o' colors.

Off Topic / Re: The Computer Megathread V2 - Best CPU Cooler of 2013?

New contest!

Post what you think is the best all around processor cooler. Find the nicest looking, best performing, and quietest CPU cooler, and post it here - 10 of them will be added to a poll on the OP by February 10th, and whichever one wins the highest vote, that user will get a surprise reward!

Rules:

1. You must input ONLY ONE cooler for the contest. Don't list a bunch or it won't count.
2. Must be a store-bought, all in one CPU cooler. This includes closed water cooling loops (IE Corsair Hydro Series), heatsinks and nofan heatsinks.
3. No open-loop water cooling setups, as they perform far out of a regular cooler's league and aren't really classified as just CPU coolers.
4. Try to find the best bang for buck! The lower the price/better performance, the bigger chance it'll get added to the list.

To start off - I'll give you an example, and anyone can claim this example as their input - I'm not in the contest. Durr.

RMA it.
"Really Newegg. It had bent pins and BBQ sauce on it when it came."

Newegg won't believe you - because the newer processors from 775 and 1155 and so on don't have pins on them. The motherboard has the pins.

Somebody's got some bullstuff goin here

For some reason the 3.0 USB ports themselves require their own individual drivers.

I've installed all my drivers and the ports didn't work until I installed it's own drivers. It's really stupid because they don't provide you with the drivers on a CD.

Try it, trust me.

also make sure you have this motherforgetin' big cable

connected to your motherboard

is the blackwidow backlit?

Yes, the 2011 edition (mine) is gloss black with blue backlighting, the 2012/13 edition is matte black with green backlighting. Cherry blue mechanical switches on both.

As in, a keyboard with a 1-port hub on it?

My Razer BlackWidow Ultimate has a USB port on it, if that helps.

Also the Corsair K60, K90 and K95. And the original Apple keyboards.

Credit to Corsair for having great customer service. I was quite confused why I was getting higher temperatures on my H100 - I asked the forums, they told me that with my specific barcode, the pump almost always fails. So they're sending me a new one. Joy!

Okay then. Suggest me a good one.

A good headset? Astro A40. A good wireless headset? I'll correct myself, it does exist - but not for cheap.

Sennheiser RS 220 - $599
Astro A40 Wireless $299

464
Can anyone suggest me a good wireless gaming headset for $200.

Or is this a good set?

No such thing as "Good Wireless Headset". It's either good or wireless. Pick one.

If you have that price range I'd go for the best there are - the Astro A40.

If you're still using VGA monitors you need to move forward.

It's not that they're VGA monitors. (I think).

It's that they don't have enough DVI cables.
